Confidence, believe, motivation. All intangibles. The truth is much more obvious. When Rakitic gets the ball he doesn't play any sort of difficult forward pass. Mascherano is the most creative midfielder these days, no other midfielder plays the sort of long over the top pass Mascherano played to Suarez before Messi's goal against PSG. Which says it all. lol

you are only confirming what i said. mascherano did it because he has the balls to do it, not because he has the skill or class or experience. but because he has the spirit, the confidence. of course it's not only about balls, you also have to have the skill but sometimes having the skill and being chickenshit makes you a far worse player than a player with far less skill but with firmer mindstate. THAT my friend, is the truth. a good coach can do wonders with even average players. look at simeone. if it wasn't for him most of the players wouldn't have the mindstate, the confidence, the spirit of winners. make rakitic believe that he can play brilliant forward passes and he will deliver and do better than he does now. make xavi believe that and he will have more than 2 assists per season. make rafinha believe and he will run riot against the opposition midfielders. do not underestimate one's possibilities.

You really think Lucho can't do better with this squad? The way the midfield is playing, not creating chances, and Messi having to do it all, that doesn't work. Fb's as wingers neither. It's not that hard to see.
De boer, koeman laudrup aren't the names to replace him, anyway. They're as green as Lucho is.

The squad is worse than last year IMO. Last year, we were a match for Madrid in every way. Now we're not. It's as simple as that. He is a poor manager in all areas. He can't even appreciate the value of a player and his potential. I don't even like Montoya and I think he's 3 times the player Douglas is. He doesn't even realise this.

Rijkaard was under lots of pressure early on. And managers have to start somewhere.

We talked about that before.
Lucho can't repeat Rijkaard's success today.

Rijkaard came after we had already reached the bottom in 2000-2003 Seasons.
He sold 90% of that team and bought completely new team:
-- V Bronckhorst, Sylvihno, Belletti, Marquez, Edmilson, Van Bommel, Ronaldinho, Deco, Eto'o, Guily, Larsson
-- plus, he started to play new youngsters Valdes, Motta, Messi, Iniesta, Oleguer
-- only 2 (!!) players from 2000-2003 Seasons remained in the team, Xavi and Puyol

So, Rijkaard sold all players from that era when we reached the bottom.
You can't start a new cycle with a bunch of players who are not good anymore.
Look, even then we had some awesome players, but when you want a new cycle, you have to clean everything.

So, comparing Rijkaard with Lucho is insane.
Lucho hasn't cleared the mess, because we haven't reached the bottom yet, and because of our borad.
But as long as people will live in dreams how Iniesta, Busi, Xavi, Alves, Alba and lots of other players "still have a lot to offer, we just need a better coach (lol)", we won't move forward into a new era/cycle.

So, if you are looking for a new Rijkaard, you won't find him in Lucho.
Lucho will be a failure.
Our next coach in next Season will probably be equally poor (picked by the current board).

The guy who will come in 2016., he will sell this whole team and maybe then we will start a new cycle and that guy will be a new Rijkaard or Pep.

Lucho won't be a new Rijkaard or Pep.
He will be something like Antic, Serra Ferrer, Carles Rexach or other random coaches from 2000-2003 era, who couldn't do anything until Laporta and Rijkaard decided to sell the whole team and started a completely new project.

Lucho is not the man.
But honestly, he came in the wrong moment.
Nobody can be THE MAN in this moment because the board doesn't want to sell the whole team.

So, there is no hope for us till 2016'

You have an interesting point. Who do you think Lucho should have kept from existing Barca squad

Ghostmaster

Danger Ahead
Perez was RM president in 1995 when Luis Enrique was still playing for RM, maybe he really was recruited by Perez for long term plan to destroy Barca? :eusa_think:

Playing with younger, new generation of players who haven't won any trophies, plus keeping a few of older players.
-- Mats as a choice no1 in that project

-- out: Alves, Mascherano, Adriano, Montoya, Xavi, Iniesta, Sergi Roberto, Pedro
-- probably out: Alba, Pique, Busi

-- staying: Messi, Suarez, Neymar
-- from younger players try with: Bartra, and see how will Munir, Rafinha, Suarez develop

-- so, keep 2-3-4-5-6 current players, add 3-4 younger domestic players
-- and buy 7-8 new players, who will be a core of the team for the next 5+ Seasons, like:
-- Mats, Koke, Kros, Rakitic, Cuadrado+2-3-4 other players

We would have to splash 200 Millions, but we would earn a lot with sales also.

Anyway, something similar will probably happen in a summer 2016 when Laporta will come.
Again, Laporta did exactly the same thing in summers 2003 and 2004.

He will surely repeat it again.
So, it will be bye-bye to at least 10 of the current players.
Imo, that is the only way to start a new cycle.

You need 3 things:
1. a good board
2. a good coach
3. a good team

Currently:
1. our board is horrible
2. a coach is mediocre
3. and a team is past their prime

Lucho sucks bigtime, we will finish third, be beaten next round in UCL and be beaten in the QF in CDR against whoever wins between Madrid and Atletico.

I'll support the club forever but i know this season is lost already.

Question marks
Luis Enrique has not used the same Barça side in any of his 22 matches

The Barcelona boss continues to tinker with his players and is still searching for his best side

David Boti | 13.12.2014 | 20:40h.
Since his arrival on the Barcelona bench, Luis Enrique has still not repeated, in an official match, the same starting lineup.

After 15 games in the league, six in Europe and one in the cup, Barça's boss has still not found the exact formula to get the best from his squad.

Despite qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League and having one foot in the next round of the Copa del Rey, the situation in la Liga is very different.

Four points back Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid team with the half way mark in the season approaching, the Blaugrana are a long way from their most polished version.

In fact, Lucho's Barça have lost twice as many points as Tata Martino's side had lost at this stage last season.

On an individual level, the only two players who have played all the minutes in la Liga (1,350) are Claudio Bravo and Lionel Messi.
Luis Enrique's two untouchables.

The most used midfielder is Sergio Busquets (1,151) and in defence nobody has played more minutes than Dani Alves (1,070).

You can view all of Luis Enrique's lineups in the Spanish version of this article HERE.

I don't think this is positive. At all. Tata had lost less points last season, at this time. Really, really worrying.

I dont understand this "hasnt found formula yet". He already said, there is NO preferred line up with him and we should judge him at the end of season. He doesnt believe in starting 11. We are dealing with an idiot quite simply. Very arrogant one at that.
