The worst thing with lucho is if he wins nowt this year do we stick with him an give him.time to.get it right or do we sack him bring in some other unproven coach an start the vicious circle all over again. Its bound to have taken its toll on the players having basically 4 different coaches in the 3 years.from.pep.left

It doesn't matter who's the coach as long as the current board is still here. So, yeah, I say stick with Lucho for now. Also, at Celta he also started off so-so as well but the further in the season the better his team performed so maybe he can make things work if he's given a bit more time.

We're not too bad off, Lucho has some good ideas that improve on where we were last season but he needs to implement those changes consistently. Also he needs to find a way to make sure Iniesta brings his A game next year, he needs to solidify iniesta-rakitic/rafinha so Messi doesn't have to spend entire games being Iniesta's midfield partner.

I want to know more about van gaal barca. Was they really that bad?
No, not really. That was very pretty Barca, though i still hold some weird decisions against VVG like selling De La Pena and some other players and buying all those duchies. At that time i wasn't even someone, who could call him self ''cule'', because i didn't give a shit who plays for Barca as long as they play their magnificent short passing football. I understand Gal's decision's because duchies were playing the very same type of football at the time and had a great pool of superstars, unlike today. De Boer, Overmars, Raiziger, Cocu, Cluivert. Well, fuck yeah.

The reason why they always failed at CL was their atrocious defense. And not particular players really. The system looked like the last match of Barca B. No one knew their place, everyone was rushing in the wrong directions. As if there was no zonal marking at all. Maybe that was it. Van Gal simply relied that likes of Abelardo, Sergi, Couto n such would get their job done without any special advices and strict rules. Well, they did not. Failed spectacularly in so many matches and if it wasn't for Rvaldo's magic, VVG's Barca would be entirely forgettable. Before you utter Figo - no, he was average. He was genius at Portugal's NT, but not at Barca. Lucho. A squad player? :lucho:
Who else? Nobody. Average team without Rivaldo and average play too.

I agree. Against PSG Barca looked awkward not because the system was nonsensical, but because a lot of our players were WTF WAT DO. Also because Iniesta was absolute shit. On the other hand i just loved how Bartra played basically RM most of the time and still got to save our arses from 100% goal.
One thing i really dislike with Lucho is that he doesn't order his men to move around when off the ball. That was one of Guardiola's main tricks for destabilizing any opponent's defensive walls. Yeah, sometimes it doesn't work. Maybe is outdated. :tito:
Will see when Bayern meets a serious fucker in CL.

That's because in italian football, moving off the ball means abandoning the area that is your direct responsability. Basically, Lucho is saying that every player has a space of his own he needs to act upon. I've seen many times players that should have helped their teammates to create superiority, but, instead, they just stayed put and literally expected to be engaged. I'm watching this Barca, and I can tell which player is which even without looking at the name of the shirt. And I bet other coaches know that also. Because everybody knows what X or Y is supposed to do, there isn't a question of a collective plan, players helping each others to create something for the team. With Lucho, all I see is just players that need to solve their individual duels on the pitch, in the area that they have been instructed to play.

Lucho just started. He probably hasn't figoured it out yet and sticks to a basic tactical plan for some time.

Give him time. Simeone at his first year at Atleti also wasn't so great as he turned out later on.

^He doesn't need time. He needs a different team. And he's not good enough to build a team for him just to see if he's right or wrong. We're not Chelsea to build a different team just because a guy wants to see if we can play italian football.

And I think you're overreacting big time and you're the definition of pessimism. No offence :p
