Luis Enrique

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
A double is a season worthy of a lot of praise and would only be seen as a disappointment by spoiled fans. Seriously, in what world is it to be expected to be winning trebles? Let alone back-to-back ones.

However if we do screw up the remaining trophies, then it truly will be a disappointment. Considering how well set up we have been for them a while back.

Do you know what will happen in the cl next season around this time?
We will do well if msn and especially messi is in form or we will go out if they aren't just like now.
Do you really want this invisible manager to stay?

If we lose the league then only it is a disappointment. Considering the amount of the matches we played this season and our deapth domestic double is worthy of praise. This just proves winning back to back CL is almost impossible even with MSN. The way it is setup it was always going to end up like this. I thought we can win because other teams are not great but real and atleti peaked at the right time while we peaked too early.

His tactics today were throwing the best names to the pitch and expect them to do the job... I felt we had gone over that, but that's what happened today, mindlessly playing the so-called "Once de Gala" and hoping they win based on pedigree...

Which is the case in any team.

The only scenario where it could be contemplated in getting rid of Lucho is if we proceed to lose the league. Otherwise it shouldn't even be debated.

It wasn't the case for us when we had Pep but pep is a true genius.
Even if some players were off form we had his system and his tactics to follow and barca was always the favorites because of that.
We weren't naked if our star players had an off day.

Agreed. People are so fickle ffs. Wasn't here in 2010 but I can't imagine people were calling for Guardiola's head back then after losing out on the Champions League AND Copa del Rey during a time where Barca were the only actual powerhouse in European football. Win the league, win the Copa and it's still a good season.

Hahaha, yeah, massive LOL at bringing Valverde...

Lucho screwed up big time today (recently? or many small mistakes just piled up today?) and he said it himself, but come on, Valverde? Hahahaha!

What the hell is with this talk of firing Luis Enrique already?

He won us the treble last season and we are still the favorite to win two trophies this season.

We are not Real Madrid. We don't just fire someone when (and a big IF) we we go down in ONE season.

It might be possible if you only focus on the CL and rotate heavily in the other competitions. Barca had too little depth for another treble, last year we had Xavi and Pedro coming off the bench, players who know the system and usually contribute.

If he loses La Liga and the Copa, he may step down.. Remember his comments about coaches getting one yr contracts.

The biggest mistake is that he started the game reactively. We waited for Atletico to score and only then we rushed forward. We wasted 40 min. with that stupid idea. Instead of looking to score first, we tried to go with the 0-0 for as long as possible, hoping Atletico will expose themselves looking for the goal. Naive thinking. Atletico is such a team that they do not have to expose themselves to score a goal. They can do it with a long pass, with a set piece, or with a well placed cross. They can and do score without sending many men forward. Simeone made a mistake once by sending too many men forward in the Copa at 1-1 aggregate and he payed a big price. He learned his lesson then and just put on a masterclass in how to play a CL tie without having a 500m. euros worth of team. You don't give up your defensive position no matter what. Except in the last 10 mins. of the game or so.

We absolutely had to score, it was crucial, and in the first half it did not look like that was our no1 priority. Simeone outclassed him imo, but talking about firing him is unacceptable.

His plan looked like passing about midfield and defence to try and draw them out. As game goes on they have to come out more and it opens it up for front three.

Problem was it provided little going forward and team were not good enough to defend. Allowed them to take risks and get more men forward and get important first goal.

He fucked up big time.
