Wild Man of Borneo
I know they're only short videos and its the first two days but it's pretty funny that the two videos of the first two training sessions have consisted of light jogging and rondos. Intense pre season training Barca style.
They only show the warmups in these videos
I can't pretend to know the ins and outs of a preseason training session at Barca but from the information available, it seems clear that they start with basic jogging and physical warmup then do rondos for basic ball work to start out the session. Then I'd think they probably split up into different groups and work on various physical/positional things.
For example in the videos MAtS is just taking part in the rondos but there are pictures of him with Masip and de la Fuente in the gallery, indicating that the GK's split off later in the session. Other pictures show things like Munir looking winded and spraying water on his face, exhausted players like Bartra stretching, Deulofeu/Sandro/Adama and the other attackers doing drills with the yellow pennies on, and what looks like some small practice matches. Then you also have to consider that they have double sessions daily and that in early preseason you're just regaining fitness and getting back on the ball while important things like tactical work come when the entire squad is present, during team meetings, and during pre-match preparation. Even Pep at Bayern doesn't do squat before all of the senior players return from NT duty. I'm more looking forward to how Lucho can handle trainings with our senior guys like Messi, Iniesta, etc. and turn them into a well prepared juggernaut unit.
It's nothing like when the training sessions under Tata looked like just goofing off and fun playtime around March during the most important part of the season
