I know they're only short videos and its the first two days but it's pretty funny that the two videos of the first two training sessions have consisted of light jogging and rondos. Intense pre season training Barca style.

They only show the warmups in these videos :p

I can't pretend to know the ins and outs of a preseason training session at Barca but from the information available, it seems clear that they start with basic jogging and physical warmup then do rondos for basic ball work to start out the session. Then I'd think they probably split up into different groups and work on various physical/positional things.

For example in the videos MAtS is just taking part in the rondos but there are pictures of him with Masip and de la Fuente in the gallery, indicating that the GK's split off later in the session. Other pictures show things like Munir looking winded and spraying water on his face, exhausted players like Bartra stretching, Deulofeu/Sandro/Adama and the other attackers doing drills with the yellow pennies on, and what looks like some small practice matches. Then you also have to consider that they have double sessions daily and that in early preseason you're just regaining fitness and getting back on the ball while important things like tactical work come when the entire squad is present, during team meetings, and during pre-match preparation. Even Pep at Bayern doesn't do squat before all of the senior players return from NT duty. I'm more looking forward to how Lucho can handle trainings with our senior guys like Messi, Iniesta, etc. and turn them into a well prepared juggernaut unit.

It's nothing like when the training sessions under Tata looked like just goofing off and fun playtime around March during the most important part of the season

Luis Enrique: "Alves has an ongoig contract. We'll talk and see what his wishes are. And we'll explain ours."
Luis Enrique: "Goalkeeper who'll play first game? If I'd have to chose today, I'd say Masip, because I know him perfectly. We'll see."
Luis Enrique: "I like Mascherano a lot, I like versatile players. He'll play at centre back or as midfielder depending on what we need."
Luis Enrique: "This is Barça, the door to the first team is open for youth. I hope B-team players will leave me no choice than to use them."
Luis Enrique: "We don't want to be a predictable team. We want to be able to use different concepts and tactics and to surpise the opponent"
Zubizarreta: "We won't have a squad of 25 players like last season. We want a smaller squad, because some B players are ready to help out."
Zubizareta: "Signing another midfielder if Xavi would leave? As for midfielders, we have what we wanted to have."

Some intresting ones for me :

Lucho stirring the pot with Masip starting over both our new goalies :)
Love the fact that we won't have a predictable team this year that's one of the things last year which killed us was the obvious lineups. Mix that with B players that Lucho trusts like Delo and Rafi and we should be harder to prepare against.
Masche on D again better only if there is injuries to Bartra, Pique, new CB.

They're all part of the warmup. But as a matter of fact, you can't start your pre-season too intensely. Those who have been resting all summer, should start lightly; those who've been working out themselves are able to get more intense routines. The concept of a good pre-season should consist of a lot of aerobics, muscle fitness exercises with your own body weight and getting the ball touch back (RONDOS :) ). The intensity varies with the level of fitness that they test in the medical for each individual. It's very important part of the training, to prevent any injuries whatsoever.
Pre-season training is a science.

offtopic, i'm starting my pre-season today as a coach, getting the squad ready for a little training camp in 1 week. Scheduled 3 sessions at the beach.
