lucho is getting results, sure. but our style and quality of play is far from convincing, and if we don't sort out the midfield and RB issues, i can see a complete pasting like we got in 12/13 in the CL. incidentally we were running away with the league in that season, thanks to messi.

Damn, if we're playing "good" now, what's the adjective for 2015 ? "Uber-awesome-once-in-a-thousand-years-peak-level-not-reached-since-..2011" ?

Our season looks a lot more like our second goal vs alaves, than our first.

Look at it this way: we are getting good results lately, and we can only go up from here.

2015 was about MSN being fully motivated, the midfield of busquets iniesta rakitic playing lights out, and alves with an encore of his prime years. increasingly, it looks like lucho had little to do with that outside of keeping players fit.

I don't buy the 'Lucho isn't promoting young players' bit. You guys howl whenever Lucho rotates (and, for some reason, when he doesn't). I can already imagine the flurry of abuse that would be written here if Lucho played Alena and we drew or lost. Sort of like when Pep started Tello against Real a few years ago. (Granted, the clasico is something else entirely. But the reaction I think would be comparable).

lol of course they would, but barcaOG completely misses the point as usual lately... Bojan complained that, at 6 0, Roberto was subbed in midfield. What was the point of selecting Alena then instead of a 3rd CB ?

As for the rotations, Lucho overplayed MSN in 2016, and tinkered with the rest of the squad. Not that hard to figure out.

We were up with six goals.

Six.

6.

Seis.

Why bring Alena with you and not play him when you're breezing past your opponent? Especially considering Alena is a vital member of the B team that is fighting hard for promotion from Segunda B.

It makes no sense. In the end he gets no minutes and you potentially fuck up Barca B at the same time needlessly.

I'm not going to go on a 1000 words long rant, but it's just strange to say the least, and a reason why so many people have qualms about Lucho's use of academy players.

At 6-0 Lucho certainly should have subbed Alena on. No doubt about that. That's a fair point that I will easily concede. This is precisely what I think is worthwhile--talking about specific situations. My point was more general: about Lucho failing to develop youngsters. And I still think that if Lucho were to rotate one or two of them into the squad, and we failed to get a result, people here (not everyone, just the anti-Luchos) would scream.

You keep on inventing stuff.
Noone asked Alena to start.

He is failing to develop youngsters. Actually, not even failing, as he isn't even trying. He's completely ignoring la masia. And no one was asking for Aleña to start, just to play minutes after it was 6-0. Or 4-0, there was a cushion good enough to give him minutes.

We're talking about bringing youth players into the fold. Is Alena not a B player? He is. So what's your point?

What is your point? Him being on the bench an entire game is giving youth players chances?

In two and a half seasons Lucho has done nothing when it comes to the youth so I am not expecting him to change now.
