My opinion.

The press made up about Iniesta and Busquets asking for 3-4-3 after they were vocal after PSG game.

Doesnt matter if he had tried and abandoned it in past. The players and circumstances are different now.

Iniesta and Busquets ever had any success playing 3-4-3 to ask for it? They were pissed off about the way the team was set out and midfield etc I think. Wanted that changed even then I doubt they went to Lucho.

They wanted it to be changed. If they weren't vocal about it, maybe lucho wouldn't change the formation. Makes no sense to discard the opinion of players like Iniesta and Busquets, to me. That even if they didn't talk to him personally, Lucho didn't take what they said into account. He only changed the system after those complaints.

I agree the players were unhappy about the tactics being used not that they went in and demanded Lucho change to a formation that neither of them have ever really experienced any success with.

He didnt change the system directly after those complaints. He played the same way again the next match and then changed it for Atletico.

Managers should always take their players opinions into account and act on them if they are right. Pep did it as well.

Not entirely convinced about the defensive dimension to our 3-4-3. We don't have a Kante and our players sure as hell ain't gonna run as they did against PSG every match. I think we should keep playing it though and see what patterns our midfield and Messi start picking up along the way.

3-4-3 has some Vulnerabilities but the 4-3-3 we have been using for most of the season was even more vulnerable then the 3-4-3. we didn't have a RW and Roberto was getting eaten alive every match at RB and our Midfield was static, Slow and it easily got sliced open by teams and it put a ton of pressure on our back four.

Lucho's 4-3-3 was broken and it had been for a long time now and it seemed like the players just didn't enjoy playing in the formation anymore. Lucho's 3-4-3 isn't perfect but it will get better as time goes on with the players getting more and more accustom to it.

For the first time in ages it feels like we are making progress every game. it has been what 3 weeks since the Leganes match? and the improvements since then have been staggering to say at least. makes me wish Lucho had introduced the 3-4-3 Diamond formation sooner.
