My point wasn't that buffon is not goat. It was that keepers role is limited and someone just said buffon alone is reason enough for us to not score in the return leg. A keepers role is very limited. A team can lose 5-0 and there would still be a chance that the keeper couldn't have done better in any of the goals.

Yeah its a tough job to comeback but a messi and neymar turning goat mode will surely make this better than "next to impossible".

No dude you don't get it. We have to get past Buffon AND the best defensive line in football right now. Even with MSN that's easier said than done because our nonexistent midfield strands the top 3 and leaves them to the mercy of Juve's defense and midfield.

Watching Real Madrid and Bayern is so depressing. Top to bottom they're both in a completely different class from us, and both teams have midfielders who could have easily been playing for us right now, if our coach and board were competent.

The comeback against PSG was a mistake. We're not a top team anymore. We're not even close...

its called the end of a football cycle...it starts when you replace world class players all over the pitch with mid table level. under pep we had world class players in all 11 positions for almost 4 years and 8-9/11 players were world class in 2015 under lucho. now maybe 3 or 4.

They're not in a completely different class to us FFS. Didn't we play Madrid not to long ago and were a Neymar sitter away from winning the game? We are a poorly managed team with 2 problematic positions, RB and midfielder.

Ancelotti is like 2 levels above Lucho considering tactics. Zidane is showing more tactical nous than Lucho as well. We will improve with 2-3 good signings and with a new manager.

A solid manager and a couple of good signings changes a lot of things.

I think that you and some people here are overrating Juventus and their defensive line.

I don't like those phrases like MSN, best attacking trio ever or Juve's defense: the best defense in the world etc.
Juve has a good defense, true.
Buffon is a Goat, true.
Italians in general are masters of defense and tactics, true.

But still, Spain won 4:0 on Euros, we have won multiple times against Milan and other teams who are equally as defensive as Juve.
Also, we put 3 past them 2 years ago.

Imo, personally, we could turn around 2:0 or 3:0 against everyone. Except against Bayern, they are too strong for that.
I can see us scoring 3-4 against Juve in the 2nd leg (if we won't have injuries this weekend).
Whether 3-4 goals will be enough? We'll see soon.

We are not a BAD team.
We are hot and cold team.

Can we win our next 5 matches in a row? Hell no.
Can we win the next match with 5:0? Yes.
Can we lose the next match with 0:5? Yes again.

This team can still win against anyone on our "hot" night.

Only 2 years ago:

A Goat Buffon was there. Defensive line was there, yet we created enough of clear chances.
This time we will even play at home.

Or Barca in 2005 against the MOST experienced team from early 00's, Milan who won a CL in 2003 and 2007 and lost a final in 2005.
They played 3 finals in 5 years, while Juve played only 2 finals since 2000.
So, it isn't exactly true that a current Juve has some out of this world CL experience, tbf.

If rookie Barca with Ronaldinho-Etoo and zero CL titles managed to score 2 in 2005 past dinosaurs Milan, I don't see why this Barca couldn't score 3-4 past Juve who is far from European giants Juventus...

A final is different from a 2 legged tie. And that Barça was really superior to this one, not really a fair comparison to make.

I'd honestly go as far as to say we're problematic in more than the three positions you mentioned (We don't have any top class midfielders, so that's 2 by itself). We need an overhaul in midfield, we need a RB, we need a CB (Or two, Mathieu and Mascherano are both past it), and... we need to get rid of one of MSN. Aside from Messi they shouldn't be untouchable. If they refuse to sit some games out then some space should be cleared so we can finally bring in some depth to that position and no longer have to hope and pray none of them ever suffer a dip in form or gets injured/suspended. Players like Paco should not be the only forwards we can get to join the team. I think having Messi and two good forwards supporting him, along with a couple of solid backups, is better than having the "greatest front line ever" without a single viable backup.

Licho will leave the team way worse than when he arrived. That's awful. Changed basic things, signed players that don't fit, and will leave behind a mountain of problems to solve...

If we didn't already need that comeback against PSG, then I might have thought we'd have a chance. But I don't expect lightning to strike twice.

Players are bored these days and want a challenge so they don't give a shit in away games anymore. :lucho: 0-7 in last 2 away CL-games, what a mess.

It hurts that we didn't score in Torino. Unlike the game in Paris we had some good chances yesterday so an away goal would have been deserved. Coming back after 0-3 vs Juve? No way. Just conceded two goals in the whole tournament and they are aware that Barça had already an impossible comeback in which the opponent showed how to not do it. Allegri is not stupid, they will go for the away goal
