This is one of my lowest points as a Barca/football fan. To see Barca crash so fucking badly and this Madrid side pick Bayern apart is depressing. We've survived Madrid's success before in recent seasons. However this time is different. At this point there's a pretty good chance that RM win the league, likely smash us in the Clasico, and that they become the first team in history to repeat the CL while we get humiliated by Juve in the quarterfinals. That'll be 3 CL wins in 4 years; on paper that level of domination in Europe is comparable to our greatest ever era. We're already seeing Barca as a team fall, it'd be so painful to see Barca's legacy be undermined as well.

I'll honestly consider not watching football for some years if that happens. Especially considering that the downwards trajectory of Barcelona make it very unlikely we'll 'redeem' ourselves in the next seasons. God, I can't draw a single fucking positive feeling from football right now.

Well, a lot of football curses has been broken in recent time, Portugal winning trophy for example. Leicester doing an underdog in PL. It might be time for Atletico or Juve this year. It takes only one defeat to break RM success from great to good

Pep's Barca legacy is not in jeopardy in any way for me.

RM winning now can't undo what Pep did. However with 3 CL's in 4 years, they would already match our GOAT era in European success. Their team isn't done either. They have the money to throw around and are much wiser with it now than they were years ago, much wiser than our board too.

They'll throw >70mill at Monaco to buy Mbappe. They already have a number of talented young players in Carvajal, Casemiro, Isco, Asensio, Kovacic, Varane, Morata, etc. If even only a few of those players succeed or continue to succeed they won't have any problems with their squad and they can just spend heavily without discretion to boost any weaker areas. They won't make the same mistake as us to replace crucial players with scrubs.

Football is unpredictable, that's what I know. But Pep's Barca is untouchable. Let's not forget that Madrid hasn't won a title since 2012.

madrid have won 3 CL in 5 years before, statistically a better output than the 4 CL in 9 years we achieved in our decade of dominance. yet no one remembers the madrid of the 90s-very early 2000s as a great european side because in none of those 3 years did they win the league and in none of the years did they win the CL with a dominant campaign. pep's barca, the aura we had and the art we created surpassed mere results much like milan's late 80s side or the ajax of cruyff and will always be remembered in that company. the current madrid are a winning machine but they haven't put their stamp on football IMO.

Imo, no one remembers real from 98, 00 and 02 is because people always look for fresh stories.

Galacticos didn't play that bad.

Milan in 90s played awesome. Yet no one remembers them today.

If real will win a few cls now, they will be a fresh story for new generation of teenagers.
Barca from 2006 and 2009 will soon be something which happened 10 or 15 yrs ago and new kids won't care about thos grannies.

Who remembers and talks about a dream team today, even though they won a record 4 la ligas in a row?
People don't care about past times.
For new kids, for example, Neymar is probably better than any player from that era.

That's how world works.

Barca will be forgotten soon.
People need new stories, new heroes and new records.

Man this season just soured Lucho's legacy here for me at least. I mean winning the treble and the double the following year was incredible but this season just everything from transfers to his tactics and handling of shit just soured me.

He's leaving behind a team that is completely lost and it lacks the top quality a team like our should have in key areas. whoever gets the job next will have to spend more money to rebuild the squad again.

People here who used to say he surpassed Pep as a Barca coach can take a hike now.

To believe that in 2012, his last year with a Barca team in decline still was some luck away from reaching the CL final while now we're getting torched by every second team is just sad. I think the midfield in Rijkaard's last season was better than ours now too.

that 2011-2012 season, we beat madrid 3-1 at the bernabeu in the liga. i still think we were the best team in the world that season and were a healthy david villa and a non donkey sanchez away from competing in the final. the decline only really started under tito and was very steep. MSN was a steroid boost in 2015 but again, the decline is very steep.

what really hurts is the decline was brought about by getting total scrubs for the midfield, betraying the very principles which made us great.

I wonder if we didn't have Iniesta and Busi, he would fill the three slots in the Midfield with nothing but Rakitic/B2B like players. Just the thought of that is just frighting.

Look at our pathetic midfield, bar Busquet no one is even wc, Rakitic? Old man who already past it Iniesta, Andre freaking 40m Gomes, worse brother Alcantara, Sergi Roberto, Arda Turan, old and useless cb in Masche and Mathieu. We need to rejuvenate but i doubt we can do so till that smug face Bartomeu and dumb ass Fernandes and all of this cash grab crew GTFO.
