I've accepted we won't play good football this season so from this point I have no expectations.

Copa Final will be nice farewell for Lucho and I hope we win it and he goes back to legend.

We'll talk in the next seasons about that. Everybody was saying how shit Kovacic is last season, and this season he's been playing great from what I saw. Right now, I trust the players we have to step up. We are already in the Copa final, and with very good chances in CL. If we have an opening for La Liga in april-may we will go for it as well.

Gomes is one of the best young players in La Liga with potential to be world class in 2 seasons.

I don't get what you see in him when he so regularly demonstrates a distinct lack of talent in almost every aspect of play. He doesn't even show flashes of brilliance, just the occasional game against a non-pressing opponent where he might play a few forward passes here or there.

I see no place for him in this team going into the future. He has pretty much nothing to offer in a creative role. He lacks the agility and foresight to play against high pressure and dictate play properly (and by properly I mean contributing to meaningful buildup, not playing idle passes). If Messi eventually moves to midfield, he's not nearly good enough defensively to cover for him. He's not even a raw talent. Kovacic has always shown natural dribbling ability and raw playmaking talent, getting more well rounded and efficient as he matures. Denis shows the same qualities but he's still immature and I'd imagine we'll see some of the same from Aleña when he comes up. Gomes has shown pretty much none of this promise. His highest praise comes from matches where he plays levelheaded and OK, not even setting himself apart much. I can't imagine him turning it all around and becoming world class in 2 seasons.

Well most people act as if his departure is an absolute certainty.Sure we've been playing like shit and we might win nothing this year but maybe he wants to stay(?)

You're right, guess it's better to just go with the flow and hope for the best. It's hopeless to expect good football.

Rotating in the league, with Mathieu LB, Paco CF, and Gomes / Turan / Rafinha midfield.

Can't do anything right these days.

ya man, can't do anything right, terrible loss that.

oh nvm, won 3-0 against a tough la liga side with a makeshift squad after beating atleti at the calderon.

ya, he's an awful awful coach.

Mundo Deportivo had a piece saying the Captains would understand if Lucho leaves after this season. That's as big of a hint that he's taking a sabbatical as you can get at this stage of the season. I think he might already have told the management about his intention.

Also, Valverde is going to leave Athletic Bilbao when his contract runs out and was already an option to replace Tito before Rosell chose Tata.

It's obviously too early still, but it would fit well with the club wanting to appoint someone they know, who's been a part of the Barca system.

As for this season, then we're not playing well, but for once, it's our time to have some luck on our side, so I just hope the squad and Lucho can keep getting results their way.

For better or worse he's leaving at the end of the season. Probably for the best really. Long-term coaches aren't a thing these days.

He had a great first two seasons but it's time for him to leave at this point and he realizes it.

Get Valverde or someone while we wait for Xavi to Make Long-Term Coaching Great Again. Maybe.

He is. He shouldn't have rotated that much, it was a risky gamble that he took because he's not betting on la liga anymore, and he's scared of Atletico and PSG in the cups.
As great as Atletico is, given the result in the away leg, it makes zero sense to me why we'd rotate more vs Bilbao than vs them. Maybe it does to you ?

No result here would have handed the liga to RM and killed the last of lucho's credibility.

I somehow get this impression that most of our goals scored from open play these days come from counters? Not that there is anything wrong with being good at playing counter, of course it is great, but if my impression is true, that also goes to show how ineffective, poor and idealess we are when we have possession. Is Luis Enrique's tactic these days simply being let's let our opponent dominate us (even at home) and we will rely on counters and set pieces (most of which from MSN) to win games? Basically we will be rendered useless without MSN?

He got bailed out by MSN so many times and now he gets bailed out by MSN and luck. He needs to go.
If you recall there was another team in the league 3-4 years ago that played like shit and relied on counters and the front 3. Now ours and their playstyle is reversed.

Yep, truly awful. Next thing you know he might win against PSG in Paris. He needs to be sacked ASAP.

I am watching Man City playing quite beautiful football. Not sure it's winning football but they lead 1:0 after 20 minutes and dominate. Their passing is crisp and movement excellent, nice to watch. Possession 82% so far. Swansea is probably a worse team than Athletic Club, but our style of play has really suffered this year. Coaches can make a difference! I wonder how we would play with Pep as Coach.
