Luis Suárez

Starting to like the idea of Griezmann but there is no way to Barça get rid of Suarez right now. I can see him staying here for another 2 years, no matter if playing godly or embarrassing.

Suarez as a bench player isn't that bad as long as Griezmann is starting and Paco is sold

I'm still wary that we might be seeing a decline from him. He's already 30 and very soon 31. His playstyle is also pretty strenous and never been quite technical.

Once El Pistolero starts firing again, its just a matter of time, we will be much stronger for it. I am not surprised at all these kids who are bashing him because he had few bad games. In this age of instant gratification, patience has gone out the window. If they can't wait more than 3 seconds for a video to load, how can we expect them to wait a couple of weeks for the best striker in the world to regain his form?

Which is why a lot of people call him to be benched. The talks of decline are way too early.

Yeah, Suarez has been off-form for just a couple weeks

Suarez has been out of form for a long time. It's not just scoring where he's been shit. His passing and first touch have been abysmal, dribbling non existent and finishing woeful. Basically he's either declined badly, out of form o4 can't play in this new position. I'm not sure which it is.

Okay, not couple of weeks, how long has he been off-form?

If i remember correctly he was scoring pretty consistently at the end of last season.

So If we start from this season, I don't know how well he played in the preseason but i am sure we'll all agree the whole point of the preseason is for players to regain their fitness and form. In the Super Cup he was terrible but so was the whole team. Sadly for him he got injured and missed our first 2 matches. IMHO he returned too soon and played against Argentina and came off injured. He returned in the derby against Espanyol, I will not say he played great but he scored a goal and i wouldn't say he played poorly. Against Juve he had an assist but I would agree he didn't play good. Against Getafe he was simply terrible and Valverde was right in benching him and hopefully he will regain his form against Girona.

Hoping to see some improvement and signs of life from him tonight. If he still plays like complete garbage he should ride the bench for a long time. He doesn't have to have a world class game, just being competent is enough.

The best medicine for Suarez right now is one match play (favorably inportant one) one match rest. Make him feel itchy watching his mates playing on the bench, make him a bit angry and your golden!

He starts tonight, needs a performance, especially as he'll be taking up the spot Messi has been lethal in recently.
