Luis Suárez

I think 99% of us here rate messi over cr7 because cr7 is just a poacher and extremely one dimensional so it would just make us hypocritcal if we do not apply that reasoning for suarez. Suarez is literally cr7 with less speed.

less speed, worse touch, worse finishing, worse aerial ability, worse dribbling, worse movement off the ball, worse big game performances, worse shooting from distance

other than that, there's not much between them

I’m just so turned off by his piss poor entitled attitude. I want nothing to do with this guy. If there are people out there that see his 30 goal season that want to buy him from us I am all for it. Jump off the sinking ship while we still can.

Entitled attitude? Care to provide examples of aforementioned entitled attitude?

Watch him play. He’s always whining when he doesn’t get service or if someone else takes on a shot. I would call that entitled. Yes he has scored a boat load of goals for us but it’s okay if someone besides he or Messi takes a shot once and a while.

But if his body language was more passive or apathetic you'd say he plays with no passion and doesn't care. Ok he hasn't performed in the CL for us in while but, come the 1/4s, who has for us?

There's a huge difference between apathy and screaming at the members of the team still young and inexperienced enough to be intimidated by him for every little mistake they make, or even worse for their neglecting to pass to him, this despite the fact he's too lazy to find space and so is currently (In this hypothetical scenario) surrounded by six defenders all of whom is he too slow to outrun, and not one of whom is stupid enough to fool for his "trick" of letting the ball run through his legs, trying to turn, failing, and falling over; not forgetting a first touch so heavy these days half the time it can pass for a shot. (But not a pass, ironically.) Indeed this whole idea of shouting and screaming to show you care is ridiculous in my opinion, sleight of hand for those foolish enough to fall for it.

People seem to think that 3 years ago Suarez was some kind of twinkle toes ballerina; he always was a bit untidy and clumsy with the ball sometimes.

Look at the criticism Lewandowski has had from Bayern fans recently in the CL. Or Benzema from Real fans. What has Aguero ever done in the CL? Higuain gets called a fatty. Where was Kane vs Juve at Wembley?

People just love hating on strikers. Fact is we have won the double and Suarez has scored 31 goals this season yet is apparently shitter than Emile Heskey. Who seems entitled now?

He was never the most elegant, that's true, but come on, surely you have to accept he's declined massively? He's so, so slow, his touch, as I mentioned is atrocious, his link up play bordering on farcical at times, and then you've got his attitude re the screaming and lack of pressing when out of possession. Yes his stats are good still, in the league that is, Champion's League he's been awful, but they don't disguise, or at least I don't believe they disguise, the deterioration in his all round game. Personally I'd much rather have someone, as one poster alluded to earlier, can't remember who so apologies, who scores five less goals, hell, even ten individually, but whom for their improved link up and interplay makes the team so much more efficient. Sure Suarez scores, and some important goals still, but in every other way he's a liability, and imo we'd be much improved without him.

He tends to throw more strops when Messi is out the team, probably because then he feels like the main man. He's always had the unique side to his game where he does some really, really basic fuck ups and then the next minute you can't believe the skill he's pulled off. However about 70% of the stuff he does now turns to shit. So seeing him stropping at team mates when he is just as culpable to stupid errors is very frustrating to watch.

Yes he does score a lot of goals still, however we managed to hit 5 without him whilst looking far more creative and fluid in attack. He was the best striker on the planet for a few years and to be honest in 13/14 probably the best player in the world, however his role needs to be reduced next season however he does still have an important squad role to play in my opinion.

I believe he is not as good as he was in 2015 and 2016 100%. He is also 31 so has definitely only got 2 years max left at the highest level but is contracted until 2021 I believe.

He is indeed prone to clumsiness and heavy touches, but I disagree that his interplay is poor. Why would Messi enjoy playing with him so much if he was a bad teammate? 11 assists he has had in La Liga and 25 goals. That shit doesn't grow on trees.

If he is fit I think he starts next season with Griezmann as well.

Oh I think he starts too next season, that's the problem, ha ha. As rotation I'd be perfectly happy to keep him another season despite the huge wages. But not first team. And as for Messi, it's more that he likes him personally, isn't it, rather than as a team mate? Though Suarez does have a selflessness as regards Messi that's in his favour, I'll give him that. Though I'm fairly sure I've seen Messi reacting with frustration to Suarez's constant turn overs of possession, though admittedly that might have been wishful thinking in that if Messi had had enough of him he'd have to go!

My opinion about Suarez as things stand now is that we should sell, before the rest of the world realises that he is shit.
