I’m not saying he’s not effective there, he’s affective anywhere.

Just can’t see Valverde having him there by himself.. or moving away from the 4-4-2.. because if we drop Suarez like you said you’ve got Messi by himself there and if he drops deep we’ve got no striker. Unless we buy someone.
I fail to see the logic here. You have wings that cut in and play in the half spaces as well as midfielders who take up positions further up.

There seems to be this misconception that when a False 9 drops deep there is nobody ahead of him. Truth of the matter is that strikers are expected to play deeper, wider and be more associative with each passing day. They’re all False 9’s it’s just that nobody is as good as Messi in doing so. I saw an interview the other day of Gabriel Jesus talking about this very thing. The only strikers who don’t really associate or get involved in play are target men.

It's so hard to watch him these days considering just how much of a beast he really was.

Everything about him has gone to shit.

were going into next season with this guy leading the line, let that sink in :hooray:

worst part is, if we had got Griezmann, EV would of more than likely dropped Dembele to shoehorn him in

we would be worse with Griezmann because no wingers. So it's good that he doesn't come but doesn't make the Suarez situation better.

Only hope is Dembele going off next season and Suarez scores tap ins.

When teams play high line like Roma did can go

Dembele
Coutinho Messi.

Those two narrower behind Dembele and tell him to run like Forrest Gump any time they get the ball.

Dembers needs to improve his first touch and decision making for that though!

Do you guys think Suarez has been a good signing for Barcelona in hindsight? If we had kept Messi at False 9 with Neymar left wing for the past few seasons and signed a player to play on the right such as Hazard/Griezmann or even kept Alexis there and bought a midfielder instead, I'm wondering if we would have been better off.
