Looking at Vardy yesterday. The guy plays much higher football at 33 than Suarez. Sure Suarez is smarter but Vardy is much more valuable to his team with his movement etc. Suarez has lost everything movement wise. I know, Suarez probably has more wear and tear but still makes you wonder if he is trying at all now.

Suarez is done physically, either because the injuries or he got lazy. Probably both combined.

suarez would have value if he took care of himself like ronaldo for example, proper diet and exercising to stay in shape and good condition. but,it's easier to be lazy i guess

Well, he is in worse shape than Pique and Messi who are same age, CR7 who is couple of years older.
Players age at different rate, whether it is injuries, wear and tear, laziness or genetics. Ronaldinho was at Suarez shape when he was in his twenties for example.

It isn't always about being lazy, some players has decreased rate of metabolism and will have tougher time being in shape.
Ronaldo is a guy who has it all physically, he is sure hard worker but he had a lab designed body for football

Suarez is very competitive player and I don't think he is lazy tbh, problem is that his competitiveness isn't enough to be worth starting place here, and it doesn't make him accept bench either.

Vardy was a late developer and hasn't had much of an international career so less miles on the clock.

South American players burn out quicker because of the international demands with brutal qualifiers, money grabbing friendlies and constant Copa Americas. Alexis Sanchez another case in point. Few South American attacking players are still sharp post 30. Even Messi has had a real physical decline.

Actually Sanchez played very well after Corona break. Inter wants to continue the loan.

It was only a matter of time before Suarez was burnt out. I know it's quite hard to remember now as he's been really bad the last few seasons, but most of his career he's been a high intensity player. In England, he used to get praised for not giving defenders a moments rest and being a nightmare to play against.

Yeah he became comfortable somehwere after that 2016 season.
You can tell because he became fatter.
Struggling with the knee also didnt help.

If Liverpool didn't bottle the title at the end in 13/14 that would probably go down as the best individual season from any Premier League player. Ronaldo was great his last couple of years at United but he was in a great team and the best team in Europe 2008. That Liverpool team were pretty poor and he really carried them along with Sturridge's goals. He was incredible that year.

It was never going to be the same at Barca because he was always second best to Messi, but he did outscore Messi one year. 15/16 he should have won the Ballon D'or (or been second to Messi at least) but Portugal and Real Madrid's undeserved fluke that year gave it to the penalty king.

Suarez was never going to win the ballon dor regardless, the biting-thing(and his incident with Evra didnt help), prevented him from ever winning it.

I know but I said should. Suarez finished a distant 4th in 2016 behind Griezmann in 3rd who bottled the CL and Euros final missing key chances and penalty and scored 22 league goals and won no trophies.

Suarez scored 40 La Liga goals and 59 in all comps for Barca who won a domestic double. To not even make the ballon d'or podium over Griez shows it's not all based on what you achieve.

A controversial figure like Suarez will never win something popular like Ballon dor.

Ramos would be permanently banned from la liga if Tebas wasn't a Madrid fanboy, but he is in best 11 every year, you can do literally anything controversial on the pitch it doesn't matter, it probably even helps.

David Beckham's Inter Miami want to tempt striker Luis Su?rez to sign for them, but the Uruguayan wants to continue at Bar?a. [md]

Of course, why leave the Amigos protected environment, where you can be a free rider and get paid exorbitantly, while being shit on the pitch and being one of the reasons the team is constantly saturated

He knows he can go to MLS or other retirement league once his career here is over, so he is in no rush.
The fact that he might meet his clause and have contract to 2022 is pressing on my nerves. He will be a problem for new board in such case.
