Mind to remind you Bar?a is still not functioning so we can put that theory away.

The team play has improved compared to last season. Do you really think that last seasons football was better than this seasons. Even last season our best games were when one of them was missing from the team.

^ nonsense. we dont look dangerous at all.

i've changed my mind on this. giving suarez away for free was a big mistake. it cost us a league title. there is very little 'courage' or 'strategy' in substituting suarez for fucking braithwaite (no offense to him, not his fault).

There's a certain rejuvenation and motivation bump that comes with moving to a new team, especially in his case. You often see the same thing when a new manager comes in. It is completely irrelevant how he plays for Atletico, he was not working for us, for quite a while at that, not just one season, and so we had to move him on. It was the start of a transition that was very much needed.

Depends on what you mean by functioning. Overall compared to other clubs, our status is the same regarding our chances to win titles with/without Suarez.

Are we a team that has 2-3 individuals playing mostly for themselves? No.
Have other players gotten bigger roles and the team overall is more cohesive? Yes.

There is a difference between being cohesive at Bayern level or Sevilla level and without individualities we would be even lower.

The midfield is a clear win situation, as you can't do worse than last season.

Nah, if he stayed he wouldn't put half as much work as he does as for Atleti. Koeman ditching him clearly gave him the long-needed motivation.

Nonsense. We are literally the best or top-3 (can't remember exactly) team in Europe when it comes to chance creation, both in quality and quantity. Poor finishing and shit defense let us down. Chance creation is more than fine.

that shit doesnt matter if we are 10 points behind the league leader in january (which is about the same as already having lost the title) and if we are so bad we get destroyed 3-0 by a meh juventus side. or are you happy with all those non-converted chances and sitting in 3rd place

Terrible logic.

Assuming Barca play in exact same way with Suarez in team up until point CF has a chance at goal.

Would never be the case.

and you're assuming Suarez would add nothing? When he offered us a healthy 12-15 goals in the league and was Messi's favourite assist partner? there is no evidence that suarez would add nothing--there is evidence he is scoring goals for Atleti and helping them win the title.

explain to me how 'quality chances' are more important than goals. and be realistic about it. what was more important, for example, when we totally dominated chelsea at samford bridge in 2012, or the fact that in the only chance they got in that game they scored? what ultimately mattered more? please amuse me

No.. assuming Suarez and Messi together would be same as last season and imbalance the team with two players would have to cover for.

Again your point fails by assumption only difference is Suarez finishing and not the impact having both Suarez/Messi has on shape of team.

His stats were decent last season... but Barca won more games when Messi and Suarez did not start together and can see how much the rest of the team is playing with more freedom than having to play for two old legs in front line.

Good on him at Atletico. They can play to give him that freedom and cover for his lack of legs until can get chances in and around box.

'Messi favourite assist partner'.. Messi had strongest part of season last year for assists with Suarez out the team in second half of season. Barca also got better results just before he got injured at that point and before he came back.

If you watch that Bayern game and think Barca played well going forward as Suarez scored then no wonder mistified as to why he was allowed to leave.
