I don't think he has the energy to replace Khedira. He'll rotate with Ozil and Xabi and that's still good enough imo.

Can he successfully play all those positions? I mean, it looks great on paper but do you think all those options would work or do you have to choose one or two in particular?

I think of it like Iniesta scenario, sure, you can place him in any position in midfield and even forward on the wings, but we all know where he performs best, right?

Modrić is supposed to bring the on ball presence in the midfield, whether it means taking a load off of Xabi by playing next to him or instead of him. Same rotation with Ozil. And in the Clasico I'd expect to see the trivote with Modrić aside Xabi and Khedira which would be what would happen had Sahin transfer worked out.

He's still the rotation man, but he is very versatile and incredibly unselfish. He made 2534 successful passes (only Ashley Williams from Swansea had more) and he was one of the cleanest players fouling 0,5 times per game on average, and that's in the toughest league you can get.

I can't see him playing on the wings, he's not nearly fast enough for your counter-attacking game. Also, why do the papers assume Khedira will start at the expense of Lass? Mou seems to have a different opinion, or is Khedira injured?

Expect that to change or he won't get a game by Mou

Lass doesn't make sense. He had a good game against Getafe, especially in the first when he was confident on drives and worked tirelessly as he always does, but that shouldn't change anything in the picture. I think Mou started him only so that he doesn't sign with another club all of a sudden and rid us of a rotation option on DM.

4 years in Tottenham = 0 trophies.
10 minutes in Madrid = 1 trophy.

As much as I'm sad about Barca losing, as a Croatian and a fan of great and well-behaved footballers, I must say I'm glad for Luka. Watching him enter the game and hearing the applause was nice.

Apparently his new nickname is Lucky Luka. Cesc Fabregas came on in the Super Cup and won. Luka the same. Cesc Fabregas went onto losing both the CL and League. Hope Luka doesn't share the same fate.

Any idea how this player has been doing at Madrid. They paid a lot of money for him, from what I remember
