Well, we all say that out of frustration considering the rarety of such players in the market. But the reality is, in 2012, he would have been regarded as superfluous. And Fabregas also was regarded that way by many. Not because Modric and Fabregas (at first impression) were not world class players. But Xavi was only 32 and Iniesta was Young. You could make a case of Xavi not having many years ahead, but players of Modric's calibre won't spend 2 full seasons as a back-ups. Fabregas accepted the back-up role, and you could see how we left him .. simply half the player he was at arsenal . Having Xavi and Iniesta was both a gift and a curse. Part of the curse was this .. Their legendary partnership didn't leav any room for guests. Before even bringing Modric to the discussion, one - in retrospection - should give Thiago some props for making the right decision and allowing himself to unleash somewhere else.

Kroos is the best midfilder of the world right now an ofcourse Real too! Modric was better than Iniesta only in 2013/14 and 2014/15! in last two season Iniesta is better IMO

Kroos is definitely not better than Modric. Modric is the best midfielder in the world at the moment. Iniesta has a higher ceiling than him, but he is not at his best anymore.
