I said we played our best football with Messi as false 9 and Dembele/Malcom on flanks. Would get more speed and youth on flanks and in defense, and would get Messi closer to goal. But alas...its gone now.

Second, Malcom is a good player who was mistreated. Now, I don't say he plays well in every game, but when he does, his reward is the bench in the next dozen games. So why blame a player who is lacking match rhythm?

Malcom might have been mismanaged, but his overall performance was still underwhelming for me.
Problem is Dembele is still better, Coutinho on paper is supposed to be better. Both of those were major investments from the club and benching them for long strides was costly to that investments.
Malcom being in direct competition with Dembele (both same style, and not just position) hurt him more than Coutinho tbh.
He will have next year to prove doubters wrong, who knows may be he silence any doubter

The only player who deserves 0 blame this season, alongside Messi, Ter Stegen, Piqué and Semedo. All 4 of these guys (+ FDJ and maybe Arthur) should be main men at the beginning of next season. All the other ones should either be sold or prove their worth again because they’ve lost all their credit.
