Maybe you should start supporting Inter.
I think they have a lot of players you probably like.
You should know by now I'm not amongst those here who think we should sign young players all the time and criticise "our stupid board" every time we are linked to an older player. Monchi is not perfect but he forgot more about players evaluation, transfer negotiations,... than anyone here on barcaforum (and on other teams fan forums) have ever know. Monchi/his people have probably scouted Malcom since he was 16/17 and still played in Brazil and they have much more informations about him than fans who have watched him in 5 or 10 games.
Also, there is no real alternative on the market that we risk to lose if we buy Malcom unless someone considers Willian as a can't miss player. I don't eventhough I don't "hate" him as many people here and wouldn't be opposed to sign him for 40-50M.
When it comes to transfer market clubs often have options A, B, C, D,... and (especially when they buy unproven talented players) when they choose one of them there is always a risk that he'll fail and one or more of the players they also considered will turn out good or even great in another club (but even in that case there would be no guarantee they would also succeed in Barça if we'd signed them instead). Happens to all clubs all the time. Don't see a similar situation here if our players A (because he was our first option) or C are Willian or Di Maria.
Monchi is good, but imo at Roma he is not a director who is looking for players FOR BARCA, players for CL titles.
He is now a director for re-selling:
Find good cheap talents, re-sell for profit.
Aka: buy for 5, sell for 15.
Buy for 20, sell for 40.
Buy for 35 (Malcom), sell for 50-70m.
Monchi's interest doesn't mean that Malcom is Barca's level.
It only means that Malcom has a re-sell value and a chance to turn into a guy on whom they can earn 10-20-30m in 2 years.
So, Mochi as Barca's director and Monchi as Roma's director are 2 different things.
Don't be fooled by that.
Oh wait... maybe we were fooled already...
We'll see the answer quite soon.
So you know nothing about him, except his age. And you've been blasting the idea of signing him since way before this rumor even popped up.
Look, we can't only sign Daniel Parejo types who you love. We know you hate players straight from South America, so at least try to focus on the positive now with this guy; he's had two and a half seasons in Europe after joining from Corinthians and established himself as one of the best in France. He's not the next Pele or Maradona, no one is saying that, but his abilites are different than alot of what we have at the moment. At that price, it does make sense.
So, he had 2 seasons in Europe and his skills have potential?
But, Rabiot, his set of skills and his 5 seasons don't have potential?
You are as biased as me.
I have a fetish on proven, physcal&technical players.
You have a fetish on young players with "high potential"
You see "positive" in every young kid no matter how many times we fail, with a reply: each kid is a different case.
Well, it is, but some patterns are repeating all the time.
