He might get no. 7. We all know how that turned out last time lol. Valverde wanted a winger for depth and he has one now. So glad we didn't waste it on Willian. Selling Gomes and Rafinha and adding Thiago would make this window good and would actually improve it from last season.

You got any more of them spicy transfer rumors?

I'm working on something juicy in regards to the midfield signing. It's all speculative right now but it will involve a chain of transfers if it happens that will result in Barca signing a very good midfielder.

Will keep y'all posted when the story develops further. Right now there are only certain rumors surrounding each individual player as opposed to the bigger chain of events that will occur if the dominoes fall.

but the teams you cited (psg, chelsea, bayern) haven't won a thing either. how is it real madrid who are the only club dominating? are ronaldo, asensio, benzema, isco, etc. great attackers who provide great defensive effort like a mandzukic? does kroos press like kante or is he a fairly static player? is marcelo not a defensive liability? casemiro and modric are the only real runners in that midfielder and yet they've dominated the cl for 3 straight seasons

what is it that real are doing that barca need to adopt, because obviously the style of play that you want barca to adopt ("physique and technique") hasn't worked out well for psg (knocked out of ucl in round 16 yearly), chelsea (humiliated by barca), bayern (outclassed by real madrid for two straight seasons), athletico (crashed out in the group stages and consistently beaten by real whenever they match up)

and man city who are the closest thing to barca as far as player profile made it farther in the ucl than all those teams last season and will probably do so again this year.

You are new or something.
I replied 100s of times what Rm has in a Cl which we don't have:
1. Different attacking options: possession, counters, crosses and headers in the box, attacking corners
Barca had only slow possession game.
No counters, no crosses, no headers, not as many goals after corners
2. Real has a technical midfield.
They are better.
They have at least one dirty thug (Casemiro+Ramos).
We have schoolboys.
Their attackers defend more.
Their attackers are better off the ball.

Add some mental strength, luck, not sulking when they are losing (Messi).
And crazy Cr7, his luck, drive, off the ball movement, headers in the last 10 minutes.

So, you can't pinpoint one thing in which they are better.
Also, you may reply: why are we winning La liga then?

Well, imo, in the last few years, these patterns are repeating:
In la liga, epl, bundesliga=against midtable and small teams=possession and technique is the way to go.
In a Champions league and World cups (in 50:50 matches):
pragmatic, more defensive and direct football is the way to go.

So, against Getafe, we can play Messi, Suarez, Dembele and Cou, Arthur, Busi.
But in a Cl, you will need a different approach like 442, workhorses, thugs, aggression, motivation, mental strength, corners, counters, awesome defending, low risk, plus some magic upfront, good midfield and 3-4 different attacking options.

This is what the board should have done instead of listening to that coward valverde about willian

This transfer also smells like abidal was strongly involved if so well down

Coward what?

Valverde just like any coach in the world, Wants to have players that can immediately address a need and fill a hole in his squad, Willian is a very experienced player that can start delivering immediately (Not in a few years down the road), And doesn't have a problem with being on the bench, To give some space for dembele to develop, And he's also somewhat versatile

When he sat down with the sporting directors, He asked for them to TRY and sign willian, Valverde didn't know in advance what chelsea will be asking (That's not the job of a coach), And i don't remember any news that signing willian was an absolute must for him, Or a condition for him to stay as our coach.

Our club tried to deliver on it's current manager request (As any sensible and normal club would do), But chelsea was not asking a reasonable price for him, And the club had to move on, That's it.

If it wasn't for his absurd price tag, One could say that bringing Willian made sense, And checked many needed boxes (Someone of them outlined above).
As for malcom, His signing looks absolutely **cking random, And is not what you would expect to be an alternative to willian.
-He's too young and inexperienced (21 years), And it'll take a few years, If ever, For him to start delivering, The opposite of what made willian desirable.
-When he was about to be a roma player, He expected to be starter, And i don't think it'll change with us, And will not be happy sitting on the bench for dembele.
-He's even less versatile than willian.

In a nutshell, Almost every trait that seemed desirable in willian, Isn't present with malcom.
The only good news about malcom, Is that we didn't have to pay 80m for willian (And there is no evidence that we were ever willing), It's the only advantage i can think off, Other than that, His signing makes no sense to me.

This obsession with hoarding, And emphasize the word HOARDING young players with 'potentials', Is not a reasonable strategy to make a successful team, Because in the future their will always be some young hyped player that we must have, And if our focus is only with what will happen in 5 years, Then we'll never win anything in the present.

Welcome Malcolm and I hope he succeeds here.

Abi’s French connection at work I guess. Not bad.

Left with one more signing. Who is he going to be?

My friends who support Roma are supporting Real Madrid from now on against us.

Brilliant transfer but now after Atletico and PSG we have one more enemy.
