Absolute horror from Pique and Pedro, with Xavi not being himself either. Everyone was going for the obvious pass, we really needed to up that tempo and pass quick and fast. Way too easy to defend by playing catenaccio by Atleti.

Neymar- converted his one good chance, perfect placement against a very good keeper
Xavi- the one Barcelona player who recognized and was able to cope with the kind of pressure Atletico was placing on the ball, and was able to play Barça's game

Excellent disruption of Barça's game by Atletico, exact opposite of the game against Levante, and Barça was taken by surprise. Atletico simply didn't allow Barça any time on the ball. Really amazing, actually, kind of like the immune system with intruders. As soon as a Barça player attempted to penetrate, they were swarmed and cut off from outlets. Very well organized.

A blessing in disguise to have such fierce opposition so early, as I'm sure Martino will train how to cope with such tactics.

2. Cesc - the chances only started to come when he came on for Messi at half time.
