I've no pity for LvG: he's an annoying loudmouth. Mourinho is the right move. Considering United's resources, LvG's stint there was a failure. An FA cup is garbage for a club like United.

Tbf if professional players who get paid those ridiculous amounts of money cant take any criticism and advice from the person who's job it is to improve and manage them then something is really wrong. I hope jose fecks off all these pretenders in our squad and get in people who have a set of bollocks and wont shy away from the challenge to get us back to the top.

I think Mourinho can bring real success in 2-3 seasons. Now United will finally stop being a joke and players will actually want to join United. The problem is that they didn't qualify for UCL so this transfer window won't be as easy. Real and Atletico will shop hard considering they are facing the transfer ban. Mourinho will have a huge transfer budget and Ibra for free will also help. If they qualify for UCL then the season after that they'll have a huge transfer budget combined with UCL and Mourinho and they'll be able to attract anyone. I'm expecting Mourinho to do some business with Real Madrid.

Van Gaal gets nothing but critique but in reality he did what he had done at basically any club: Creating a solid foundation which is a dream for the following coach. The squad needs some new players of course but all in all it is intact and he has developed some youngsters like he always does.
Now Mou comes in who will be able to spend 200 Mil. on superstar players. He will probably have some success but watch the average age of the squad being 5 years older and guys like Rashford stagnating when he leaves in a couple of years. Nightmare for his successor.

Besides, van Gaal won a trophy. And I know how bad the team has been playing in most matches but it is nonsense to only look at the negative aspects.

Definitely the right move by United getting rid of Van Gaal.

But they are banking on a very short term solution by getting Mou.

Van Gaal laid the foundation and now you will see how Mou will take credit for everything.

But no official word yet from Man U about him being sacked yet, right?

What foundation? They've spent enormous sums of money yet their squad is still a mess.

He has spent around £132 million and i agree it should be better but it could be worse. He has done averagely just like his whole tenure at the club. A CF, RW, CM and Cb should be bought in in the summer. Not particularly a mess but still a fair amount of work to be done.

De Gea, Shaw, Smalling, Darmian/Valencia, Herrera/Schniederlin, Martial with a few options such as Ibra bought in with Bastian, Mata, Blind, Rashford as rotation options/Backup isnt that bad. Obviously we wont be anywhere the champions league front runners anytime soon with that but its more than good enough to compete in the league.

Bare in Mind Rio, Vidic, Scholes, Giggs, Carrick, Evra, RVP have all left/retired in the last 3 years and he has to rebuild an entire squad. City have spent alot more than that in the same period of time and haven't had to rebuild the main core of their team.

With a better sporting director half of those deals would have costed way less.LVG get criticized for Woodward failure tbf.
And this team have many young players that can help any new coach to build around them.Just like he did with almost every club he coached.

Same old cliche, and people still believe it

United and Mourinho are made for each other, imo. Classless club and classless person, perfect fit.

Why are United a classless club? I've seen some people writing this either on twitter or facebook, and no one has actually given a reason for why United are classless.

Certainly lived up to his reputation off the pitch, just not on it where it mattered. And if that inside story from ogden was true no wonder it was so putrid at times. Say what you like about Jose's football, its guaranteed the players will like him a lot more.

:D
