I feel the days of Memechester United may be coming to an end. They still have a ton of shit players to shift (mainly ten Hag buys) but Amorim could be a major coup considering City had him lined up with the SD to takeover from Pep.

Utd are going to need a squad overhaul AGAIN. I've lost count of the money they've spent and the players they've bought but I'm pretty sure Amorim will want at least three players in the January window. I'm sure he'll try and raid Sporting and bring some of their players to Utd.
If Utd are lucky and things click they might make top 4 but realistically a Europa league place makes the most sense. I'm sure Utd will give him at least until the end of next season.
It will be very interesting indeed....

They have the highest net spend in the world over the last 10-15 years. Coming up to close to 2 billion.

They basically have unlimited money and somehow get away with FFP, whilst everyone drinks the kool aid that it is their commercial activity that lets them spend the way they do. It's a myth. They are cheating the FFP as much as City who they like to point their finger at.

It's only a matter of time, when you spend so much, that the meme days would end. It's actually a miracle that those days lasted so long. If this is the point they have ended, I will console myself with the fact us ABUs have eaten better than we could have ever hoped for the last 12 years or so.

However, we continue the hate watch with eternal hope the banquet continues :laporta2:

Most reputed sports organizations and websites rank them as the biggest club in the world since time immemorial. City are a tinpot club with no fans. There's no comparison.

They had the two most famous footballers ever globally in Beckham and Ronaldo and they play in the biggest league. I made a thread on this. Tough to understand how they retain their fanbase in this plastic world of Football fandom despite being a banter club for over a decade now.

They are by far the best marketed club in the world. They are a huge brand in Asia despite the lack of success. Most of their fanbase is in London and Australasia.
Ever since I was a kid back in the 70s I despised them. A delusional fanbase too...even back than.
After spending that kind of money, they have no success and even less of an identity. If the English speaking media didn't make a fuss about them noone would give a fuck about them.
