Hopefully he showed what he can do against Sociedad, we cant keep playing rooney in behind rvp, they make the same runs so it gets congested and rooney never makes himself available to the CM's as much as before, for whatever reason. Need to alternate between rooney/rvp for ST position and fit nani januzaj and kagawa in somehow i imagine we would not struggle to create chances with them.
But then judging on history, we wont see kagawa for another 3 months.
Well....... Rooney and RVP combo worked great with SAF. You also have to consider that Kagawa is a Spanish type player, so he's going to succeed against any team that doesn't play the English way. If Man U keep the ball on the ground, he's by far their best player with the ball. However, that ball stays in the air in EPL games, and Moyes will always prefer his traditional wingers over "false" wingers. Also, Man U don't like making plays in the middle of the field. I'd be excited if he will fit Kagawa in that playmaking role which he obviously deserves though, but obviously Rooney is better for Man U in that position. He also tends to be timid without the ball and obviously Man U don't keep it too often.
Speaking on Kagawa, I really think Barcelona should try their best to snatch him especially considering Moyes sees no value in him. He'd by far be the cheapest and most effective midfielder we can get in the immediate and long-term future. While his favorite position is behind the striker atm, his abilities suit that of a midfield (some sort of "developing" country development process for players end weird like that). Most teams use a flat midfield requiring two CM/DMs that can tackle, but obviously Barcelona uses a 3-man midfield system that needs only one DM and two forward pressers in the midfield off the ball. Kagawa will not only succeed as a CM or even as a False 9 in our 4-3-3, he'd absolutely tear apart teams, too...... as long as he comes out of his timid shell. He has the vision, mentality of always keeping the ball, finesse with the ball, and also has experience with a high pressing team in Borussia Dortmund. Xavi's clock is ticking, and Cesc and Iniesta can't be the only 2 great midfielders on the team in the future. As long as teams will give him the ball and trust in his playstyle like in Borussia Dortund, he'll succeed in any ground-oriented team. Barcelona is the perfect candidate for his style. You guys can tell me I'm massively overrate him, but I believe if he comes to a team that appreciates his skillsets, he will be considered a worldclass player near or at the level of our current midfiled. We should try to snatch him before Borussia Dortmund buy him back.
