Just saw the press conference.
Rodgers completely ramped up the focus on Moyes
"He took over the Champions, with serial winners on the team. I took over when we were 8th, so the situation is different"

I saw it, nowt wrong with what he said. Can't say I liked to hear it, but pretty much everything he said is what you want to hear your manager saying after a good season.
I sincerely hope we smash Liverpool weekend though. I had a look on RAWK earlier and there's a load of them on there who genuinely think Liverpool will win 6/7-0....getting carried away much?

Well there are idiots on every forum including Red Cafe......
Everyone knows that these matches between us are always hard fought battles. However there is a shall we say over confidence of a win simply because of Moyes.
In the past where you were playing great football and having great form and the opposite for us heading into this fixture sometimes we got the win however unexpected that it was. Really the form book does go out of the window in these fixtures. Every player will play that little percent or two above himself for these types of games.
Even Lawrenson is predicting a 2-1 win for us so expect a win for you

Yeah without a doubt, there are always going to be idiot fans regardless of which team they support. Still bemusing to read they think it could be 7-0 away from home, against the current champions though (although tbf there was also a fair share of posters saying it will be much closer).
You have every right to be confident, and you could well win...but as you say it's very likely to be an hard fought contest. I'm surprised we are the bookies favorites still, seems old habbits die hard. I doubt they have ever had United not favorites at home since the Premier league started.
One things for sure though, the closer it gets the more I'm looking forward to it!

Guardian report as Rodgers quietly pushes Moyes over the edge:
Rodgers heaped more pressure on Moyes, who had suggested Liverpool were favourites before the match, saying: "I was probably surprised before the game when I heard we were supposedly coming to Old Trafford as favourites. I would never say that at Liverpool – even if I was bottom of the league. Anfield is Anfield. We expect to win and we have a mentality that has been developing over 18 months which we expect to win home and away and the belief is in the players and you see that in their game."
When this was put to Moyes, he said: "I thought Liverpool were above us in the league and playing well and any average person would have turned around and said that." Pressed if he was surprised a rival manager would question him, Moyes added: "You are entitled to an opinion."
Rodgers also claimed the job he has done since becoming manager two seasons ago could not be compared with that of Moyes on taking charge of United last summer. "I have empathy in terms of the pressures at both of the two biggest clubs in British football but it is incomparable where we were at. He came in and they were champions with world-class players. I'm not going to read anything that as been said in the Premier League section of the forum in the last couple of days because I'm pretty sure it would make a frustrating read.
I'm torn though. I had every intention of congratulating Liverpool if they won the game, but for me it was a game ruined by officials. Liverpool's strongest claim for a penalty actually came from the incident were it wasn't awarded, but by then the game had already been won. The first penalty was legit, the second and third, and the red card, were very weak.
Before saying I'm just bitter, consider that if Liverpool had conceded three penalties and a red in that game, I can almost guarantee their fans would be going on and on about 'corrupt refs', but of course now it's on the other foot I'm sure they are happy everything was just, and the officials had a great game. Well, they didn't.
On the other hand though, I have to concede Liverpool genuinely have a good team, and a manager who is seeming increasing more able than I'd ever gave him credit for. One Liverpool player who is impressing me big time is Sturridge. He really does look like he's the real deal these days, and every time he had the ball I feared the worst on Sunday.
I'm not saying that without the cards or penalties we would have won. Liverpool are the better team this season, and we certainly didn't deserve to win with the performance our players gave, but the match was so heavily influenced by refereeing decisions that I can't be as congratulatory towards Liverpool as I would have been had they won without all that.
The only positive for me, is that now Liverpool fans can no longer go on about 'corrupt refs' and all that nonsense. Sunday was proof that, there is no bias against Liverpool, sometimes referees just have bad games.
Are Liverpool genuine title contenders though?...yeah I think so, so fair play to them for that.

lol. rafael shud of been sent off not vidic. so thats one red card. the penalty appeal straight after the sturridge dive should have been a pen. 6 minutes into the game fellaini fouled suarez twice in the box?? the amount of red cards was right but could have been two. the amount of penalties wasn't right it should have been 4, could have been 5. so i think your just bitter
