But you said this:

You say most players dont agree to be bought and loaned to get experience in another team, but that happens all the time. Of course, not some very expensive player who is coveted by half of Europe, but "most players" dont agree with it? I really disagree with that.

You are also claiming that it doesnt make sense to get a good player for free on loan. You said clubs dont want to develop a player they dont own, even if their team becomes much better and they win trophies. This is what I dont understand and disagree with you on. Hell, we even loaned out Bojan to precisely Ajax a few years ago. RM loaned out Casemiro to Porto last season. Gladbach is another team that was happy to take Christensen. These are not bottom of the table clubs either, but CL teams.

Of course players are loaned out all the time. But most players are send on loan after they've already been at club for some time (like we did with Halilović who played one season for Barça B before going to Gijon), not right after they sign for them (except if they are loaned back to their previous club, that's different case).

Look again at Dembele. He had a chance to sign for a big club like BVB where he'll probably become an important part of the team right away. Why would he rather choose to sign for Barça and go out on loan for 2 seasons (like some people suggested) not knowing what will happen with him after that if that's the best what we can offer him (as there is no way we can guarantee him as much playing time as Dortmund to convince him to join us that way)?

Players just like more longterm security and that's what they get when they sign longterm contract to play for "team A" they choose, not signing for "team A" then going straight out on loan to "team B" and hoping they'll be back one day to their "team A". But a lot of things can happen in one or two years. Let's say another player emerges at "team A" and they decide they don't need that player on loan at "team B" anymore. Or that new coach comes in who looks for different type of player for his system. What will they do with that player next season or season after that. Will they loan him out until his contract expires? Will they sell him? That's what players are thinking about everytime they are send on longterm loan and that was my point of why most players don't always agree with that type of loans. It's hard to convince players if they don't really know what club's longterm plans for him are (as said above, sometimes even clubs themselves don't know or circumstances change during a year or two and they change their plans) and it gets even harder when player also don't really know much about people in the club he just signed with. It's a lot easier for him to accept loan if he's already played for that team youth or B team and knows that club/coach counts on him longterm and he's really send out on loan to improve longterm. That's not always the case when you are new to the club.

And again, I'm not saying clubs are not willing to take good players on loan (although Bojan is not a good example as we didn't really count on him anymore when we loaned him to Ajax, so that loan was just to get rid of him, same as Song, Tello,...). It's just that IF club have an option to buy a player they like for a fee they can afford they'd rather buy that player with an intent to keep him as long as possible and then sell him with profit then let another big club sign that player and then hope they'll loan him to them (or that player will choose them as his prefered loan destination) for just a season or maybe two if they are lucky.

There are some smaller clubs who live from loanees year after year but most "serious" clubs from top leagues prefers to have their own players (which they can afford to buy and pay their wages), so they'll mostly only use loan options if they can't afford to buy player they like - so if he's too expensive for them or if he's already in big club who don't want to sell, but is willing to loan - or if they get a player on loan with an option to buy (in that case they are either not enough convinced with player to pay whatever his current club ask for him and want to first see how he'll work out in their team and/or they are doing that out of financial reasons as they can't afford to buy player now but could possibly buy him next year).

Dembele is Dembele. He is not "most players".

In short, lots of clubs are perfectly willing to get good players on a loan deal and we should definitely not use that as some type of new excuse why we cant sign promising players and loan them out. And of course we dont have to only loan to CL clubs like Porto, Gladbach and Ajax, but even clubs at that level loan players as we see (Casemiro, Bojan, Christensen etc). To claim that it makes NO sense for them to do this is absolutely not true, and that is why they reject that notion and loan them.

Off to City it seems, makes sense. He's a bit old for a Pep signing but I can see it working out.

Because he's a LW. Robert wants a CF and that's reasonable considering we can get Rafinha, Denis cover the wing too.

It's been said before but Robert and the technical staff were the ones that were against signing Nolito this summer while Lucho, wanted him still.

Robert wants someone who can play both on the wings and as a striker, and that's why Gameiro is being considered and rumors are we are trying to get Gabriel Jesus as well.
