There goes JamDav again... do you have a beeper somewhere in your house that starts ringing when someone says something positive about Bartra, or negative about Sanchez or Tito?

Not wjen anyone says something negative but if they are speaking b0llocks yes.

I am sorry but suggesting Tito is the reason Bartra is not one of the best 21 year old defenders in the world is absurd and just another reason to attack Tito.

Riiiight, because apparently everything that doesn't concur with your opinion is bollocks.

No, there are reasons that neither Tito or Pep trusted Bartra all that much.

It is not down to them he is not one of the best 21 year old CB's in the world.

Unless you think otherwise then fair play.

No way on earth would Bartra be the equal of any young center back in the world if given experience! That is just ridiculous.

He was terrible in the two Bayern games no need to try and act as if he wasnt to suit your argument.

Also at the euros playing center back for Spain must have been the easiest gig going. Granted he did look better than Martinez but that was down to Martinez errors when neither really had much to do. It was not down to Bartra being brilliant defensively.

Dont forget Pep never looked to call on him or promote him to the first team when they were short of CB's.

People seem to make out that Bartra is a world class CB that has been held back by Tito. That is just a joke.

You seem to be one of the coaching/training staff in Barca going by your first statement.
If you think Bartra was terrible in two Bayern games, I suggest you watch the matches again. Do not just assume that more numbers of goal means its the fault of the most inexperienced defender. Our mid-field was not in form, Pique continued his off form and Dani was being, well, Dani. He covered the whole right part of the defense along with the middle. He didn't have his best game, but it was better than average and the best of our defense in the 1st leg.

Playing CB for Spain U21 is not a cakewalk. The difference between the young national teams are not that much because of lack of maturity. Again, I suggest you watch the matches.

There are valid reasons why Pep didn't choose him. during Pep's last 2 seasons, Puyol and Pique were mostly healthy and in form. Mascherano was the 3rd choice and even he got very little play time until Puyol got injured. And Bartra was still very young and Fontas was higher in the pecking order ahead of him. Last season was different - he was an established CB in the B team, Puyol was injured almost the whole season and even Mascherano got injured in the 2nd half. I'm not saying he should have been a regular starter - just that he deserved to play in more matches - especially against the weaker opponents in liga. And If you think Tito managed the youngsters very well, then explain the Montoya situation. The guy wasn't even chosen in the dead rubbers and 30% of his match time was as LB.

That would be too sophisticated for him. He has just too much time on his hands

:goodpost: Summed it up perfectly. :beer2:

To accuse Bartra of having a terrible game vs Bayern is simply not true. He was badly let down by his team-mates in that tie and the result does not tell the whole story.
