Great to see another youngster come through. I hope for the rest of this season, pique and Puyol are first choice for key games and can guide Bartra through this formative year

I like this because it shows that Del Bosque actually takes the current stretch of performances into consideration.

Firstly, I am gonna admit that I had my serious doubts for Bartra. Never convinced he's gonna make it. But recent performances have steadily swayed my opinion on him. I think at the rate he's improving now, he's gonna be massive for us.

I would like to comment though, that so far Barca has been handling him brilliantly. People were saying that he deserves much playing time, but the truth is, iMO, the club couldn't handle him any better. Because the earlier doubts I had before was pretty much about his mental toughness. I still remember he was bullied around in some games he played last season. But Barca allow him to develop mentally at his own rate.

This is crucial in developing a world class young talent. You should never rush him. And you should always remind the youngster to be patient. I am not targeting anybody, just giving the example that Thiago was destined to fail here, and never gonna fulfil his potential anywhere else. He doesn't have the mental toughness.

Im not comparing Thiago and Bartra. I'm just pointing out that too many young stars around the world today thinks like Thiago, not Bartra. Hence the reason the lack of truly world class talent on display nowadays. Youngsters today are too impatient.

Congratz too Bartra for the call up. Truly has turn my opinion around :D

First of all you can't say that the club has handled him briliantly when what happend last year was shameful. Tito refused him to give him minutes against teams like Deportivo or Mallorca(teams that are now in Liga Adelante) or against Celta, Zaragoza or Granada at home, prefering to use Adriano, SONG or Busquets at CB. And on top of that, when he didn't had any choice left he used him against Bayern.
The one that handled him perfect was Martino, noticing that he needs someone to teach him and pairing him with Puyol, giving him minutes gradually so that if we will have another CB crisis against Real Madrid or another big team in CL Bartra would be ready.

And secondly, Bartra was thinking about leaving, only that unlike Thiago, had his idol convincing him to stay, not negotiating a fee with Bayern. So for that I am grateful to Puyol, not the club or Tito who did nothing for the youngsters last season.

Also I don't know why would you say that there is a lack of world class talent on display..I see more talented players than clubs that are willing to give them a chance.

Right now Puyol looks more shaky than Bartra and I don't know if he would be able to play in an El Clasico without putting himself in danger..but we will see how things evolve until Christmas.

I don't know if that's really true, otherwise we wouldn't have been seeing Albiol called up for the spanish NT even when Inigo Martinez was being the best CB in La Liga or Mario Suarez called up before Javi Martinez or Nacho who has been Bartra's back-up at the sub-21. To me it looks like Del Bosque only watches the big 3 in the spanish league and a few of his favourites who are in the PL right now. And on one hand I'm happy because that means that our players have it easier to go to the WC next year, but it also makes me angry when I see them going around the world before important matches with Barca and coming back injured or even playing through injuries(like it was the case with Busi, Xavi or Pique at one point or another).

When I said that last year, Tito disgracefully playing Adriano ahead of Bartra (or Montoya) in random games people gave me the "Tito will know better he sees them in training" answer.
The youngsters last year were treated like shit and I still can't believe some people hold a grudge against Thiago for leaving, but that's another discussion. Luckily Puyol the legend did the club yet another favour in convincing this amazing talent to stay. Remember that Bartra has earned himself a Spain call-up in only 2-3 months. If he keeps training hard with the right mentality, which I think he has, he can be an incredible CB for us in the future.

Hard to defend Tito. He was a nightmare in pretty much every aspect. I blame Messi's injuries right now on him as well. There was no need to play Messi against a meaningless opponent in Camp Nou 3 days after he just came back playing football on the Mount Everest with Argentina. Even less so with a 13 point lead on Madrid. And because he couldn't get the best out of anyone else except Messi (unsurprisingly with his "give the ball to Messi at all cost" tactics) we looked clueless against PSG (a good but surely not a great side) at home without him. So he forced Messi to play on 1 leg. The after effects can be seen now.
