Called up to the squad is a big, big thing. And I wouldn't worry about him being upset - You saw how ecstatic he was at the celebration, I bet you he never expected to be part of summat like that. The players I want to see integrating into the 1st team next season = Thiago, Jeffren, Muniesa, possibly Gai if he's ready.

Well it makes sense to be honest, since he is a defender and there is space for him in the squad. He seems promising aswell, perhaps more so than any other defender in our cantera.

Apologies, I thought you meant for the Champions League squad as I just saw Quash's post. I meant that with no Abidal, Alves, Marquez and Milito, we'd need another defensive option even if he is young and inexperienced. However....Who is Adriano?

Obviously. He played at a very high level for a kid of his age/inexperience. If our youngsters like him and Thiago look like becoming extremely good players, I want to see them gaining as much first team experience as possible.

I'd still like to see him promoted next season though, he's only 17 so Guardiola must have alot of faith in the boys ability. Bit-part-consistant appearances in next seasons campaign will be more than enough for the lad. However it wouldn't work if we had both Henrique and Caceres in the squad.

It's about time we had another defender come through our youth system since the majestic Oleguer made his mark!

With the majority of the back-four of Spain's last Under-17 European team made up of Barca defenders, it looks like it might happen soon.

Then he should be promoted to Atlétic, not our senior squad. He can't take the step from youth ranks to first team.

Some good interceptions, intelligent movement, a good tackle, and a pretty rad overhead clearance. But that wasn't what made me like him, it was the fact that he was much better than any of our other defenders when he was on the pitch and we looked much more secure and comfortable. And he was playing along one of our starting defenders, who moved back into his correct position when he came on. If you didn't like the look of him fair enough, but I was impressed.

Still, I say it's way to early to promote him.
