He did, he was injured for a couple of months, so it's very impressive he still made it from Juvenil A to the first team without even having played in Barça Athletic once.
the cameo roll...i think it was just to promote our cantera system that pep chose a junevil player + to make the la masia players enthousiastic

Pep said he wanted to give Muniesa a present in the form of a 1st team appearance because of his long time off with his injuries. I wouldn't think Botia was too enthusiastic with Muniesa's call-up....

He played well in the 2nd half against Tottenham aswell, got in the way of just about everything that came his way with the exception of the goal when it seemed everyone in the box switched off a bit while failing to play the offside trap.
Not played much football in total but i've been impressed.

I expected more from the 'talented cantera products' :)

If to be honest, I was quite satisfied with the show, although the "C-team" could have done better in the attacking department. But we just saw what it is for 17 year-olds to play against a more physical and athletic team like Spurs. I also saw a good amount of catenaccio yesterday as Spurs played almost the entire game with 10 men behind the ball.

Considering the things mentioned above, I think our Juvenil A did quite well :)

The thing about Marc is that Catalans see him as the future Pyoul. He is the captin of C team and is viewed to have a lot of potential for his age. I don't think he'll be in the first team this season as he needs more play time to improve his game.

He should be a starter with the B team this season. He was excellent for his age in the Wembley cup, I can only imagine how strong our defense will be in a few years with Pique and Muniesa.

i gotta say i am wowed by this kid and i remember seeing puyol back when he was young, he was more of a right back then, but Muniesa reminds me of him in ways

tbh hes showing way more promise than Puyol did at his age. I remember Puyol was quite Oleguersque when he was first promoted to the first team under VG.

Don't see why he'd have to spend a full season at Atletic before moving up. I want to see a Pedro-esque role next year where he's quite involved with the first team, as well as getting matches for Atletic. He can do it imo.

It's not that easy, they have to be 'incorporated' with our a-team. But none of them are really as promising as Messi and Iniesta. Gai, Thiago, Botia and Muniesa could be future stars but they still have a long way to go.

Yeah same here.. I was only 9 i think when Puyol first played. But I thought he wasn't good.
Through the years Puyol evolved into a beast on the pitch and a Barça legend.

Im falling in love with muniesa. He plays the game so well and he's 17! Im not surprised pep shifted out marty. Muniesa reads the game much better than marty does, and you can see a hell of a lot more potential in him. Plus he is catalan.

Plus we have the same first name.
