Nothing wrong with improving and extending his contract. No top clubs (Barca, Madrid, Bayern) submitted a bid for him the past few years. He did believe in PSG project and was probably under the illusion they can really compete with Barca, Bayern and Real for UCL glory. Reality hit him hard after the 6-1 loss and losing the league.

PSG's bad season(although Barca's not being any better) coupled with Barca going through a transitional period with a new manager means now is his best chance to go and I think he realises that, that's why he's pushing hard for a move. He has been at PSG for 5 seasons which is a fairly long period of time. Despite the owner saying he's not selling, I can't really see any way he stays now given Kluivert has also admitted what the papers have been saying about his desire to go. Also from PSG's standpoint, do they really want to keep hold of a player who wishes to be at another club instead of selling Verratti for a huge fee, getting rid of a want-away player and having a big transfer fund to replace him with in the process.

Yeah obviously it is fake. Both PSG and Dortmund clearly said they are not selling their player no matter how much was being offered. Both have a long contracts at their clubs. Time to move on.
