You never really know what your going to get with Gomez. He will never create for himself so the team has to be on for him to be. But if you provide him with chances then there is a good chance he can put one away. He seems really confident at this tournament though.

Can't deny this guys striking ability. Such a different animal from Manzukic. I rate him with top strikers like Falcao, RVP, Benzema, etc.
Wonder how many goals he would have if he wasnt injured.

He has that rare ability of old strikers to find himself at the right place at the right time.
But Mandzukic is overall a better player (technique, pressing, versatility, even heading).

Yeah I will agree with you on that. Its a really great thing to have both of them on your team. I enjoy Mandzukic's play very much. He links up pretty great with his team. But Gomez ....his finishing steals my heart every time lol. He is the current poacher king after pippo imo. As far as pure striking goes this guy can do it with the best.

Grabbed a hat trick in 6 mins against Wolfsburg ! Was great to see. Such an underrated player =/. His starting the season injured really screwed him over.

Gomez is a strange one, always seems to get himself in great goal scoring opportunities, yet he is prone to missing sitters and some games can completely disappear (Italy in the Euros or the CL final last year)

i think for a decent fee he could be a good asset. Against the teams who defend a lot. He is strong in the air and good with the feet as well.

Mandzukic is by far the better player, Gomes cannot pass and more than once he almost scored, while trying to control the ball. His first touch is that bad.
