Nobody said Dortmund are jumping at the opportunity to sell their best players but if Barcelona were able to work an agreement to get at least one of Hummels/Subotic/Reus/Gotze then it would be great. Also, Gotze shows way more potential than Neymar.

I would prefer Gotze over Neymar. But tbh that would make things really difficult for Thiago and others lol.
But I would be lying if I said I can't pictre this kid in the blaugrana years down the road. I believe he said he would like to play for us.

It is strange lol. We have an abundance of fowards right now and we HAVE to offload some if Neymar is coming. On the other hand...do we need more mid fielders? To me Gotze would be a welcome addition. Very young yet proven. Getting better with every game. I know others would prefer us to stick with our current roster and incorporate the masia player like Roberto. It's kind of how our club does things lol.
I just think that getting Neymar for that amount is bullshit. It's a bad move and we can invest in other places like our freaking defence. BUT if we are going to sign a expensive non defender I would prefer Gotze. Not that it will happen lol.

I think we both agree that if money is to be spent in the summer; the number one priority is a world class CB and THEN we can worry about other attackers.

Really there aren't many impending transfer necessities at barcelona. All we need is probably 1 center back, 1 young goalkeeper, and then maybe 1 utility player to solidify our squad depth. Neymar isn't needed in attack, Gotze isn't needed in midfield. This isn't fifa guys, you can't just buy every good young player in the world for no reason. Gotze is great but leave him be. He's happy at Dortmund and doing great things for them. Barca should focus on fixing their defensive strategies and keeping the defenders disciplined and turning them into an unbreakable wall.

Nobody is saying we should go out and sign him. We are saying we would rather sign him then neymar lol. And if you read, we also stated our real problems lie in defense. Our defense will never be an unbreakable wall just because of how we play. What we do need is the depth to make sure we remain a wall at all.

why do you think Gotze has/shows more potential than Neymar as an attacker ?

Not the user, but I think it's mostly because he already has experience in Europe, and has shown he can perform at the highest level.

I'd be surprised if Götze left Germany, there are so many big club targets in the Bundesliga that just won't leave but then I didn't think Podolski would leave Germany either so you never know

I don't know if I would say he has more potential overall...but they are players who can play different roles. Gotze can boss the mid field or you can throw him on the wings. Neymar is a pure forward.
As far as playing to their potential....Gotze imo is more advanced at this time. Neymar could be capable of being one of the best someday. But right now he doesn't impress when given the chance and has failed to shine against top opposition. Gotze meanwhile has cemented his place in the national team and won man titles with Dortmund in a stronger league.
This kid has REALLY been tearing it up this year even after being injured for a bit. He plays with the confidence of a much older player. Is also a tough little bugger.

If he didn't all the hype around him he'd cost 20 million and it'd be a great gamble for any team. Unfortunately for 40 million+ it's less of a great transfer if it doesn't work out. We did spend an incredible ammount on Uselexis tho so...
