I know it's preseason but if he keeps up the good work so far he will stay on a Permanent basis at Barcelona, instead of being thrown back to Fluminense like Robert was.

He's only 20 years old, but he certainly has the skill set to be a Barca CB. Great and calm on the ball and gelled well with Mathieu and help start plays from the back during the first half. if he keeps it up he could be a option for the future for us.

We are a hit and miss when it comes to Brazilian talent you could say but theirs a good chance Marlon could be a Gem for us.

The central defender is thought to have a big future ahead of him

In Brazil, Marlon Santos is compared often to Thiago Silva.

For their style of play, and also because they both were formed at Fluminense, the two are mentioned in the same breath.

Many observers state that Brazilian football has not produced a defender with the quality of the PSG stopper until the emergence of Marlon.

The defender who has come to FC Barcelona this summer was born on September 7, 1995, in Duque de Caxias.

He began as a defensive midfielder until the age of 17, when in a tournament in Germany, one of the Fluminense central defenders suffered an injury, and Marlon took his place.

He has never moved again from that position.

Those who know him describe him as a tehnical and quick defender. At 6"0 tall, he is not bad in the air.
