That he gets the job done fairly well, in a team that is mostly looking for Messi all the time.

Messi didnt even play in the two CL games he scored majority of goals in.

Two goals for Barca against Vallodolid and Osasuna is not anything to hang hat on and when been about only player to play CF other than Messi.

Let's see him playing in the future as well. I think he'll continue to score fairly regularly because he has good instincts in the box.

He has scored four goals from open play all season v Kiev, Ferencvaros, Osasuna and Vallodolid and we are speaking about 'scoring regularly'?

I doubt he will be even the CF in January if club can sort it out.

Looking at xG with penalties in Liga, Braithwaite is 2nd in the team. Without he's first.

NP = non-penalty

Ansu does however look better on this, because he overperforms it, along with Dembele and Pedri.

But sample sizes are still quite small.

In short, possibly, yes, but you'd need to account for volume of shots and consider the ones he misses.

It suggests one or a combination of the following:
- he's getting very good changes when he plays
- he's taking a lot of shots from poorer positions- he's scoring less than he should
based on the graphic below I think we can say he isn't doing that?

The xG gives him two almost certain goals from 4 yds vs Osasuna... the first he missed poorly as straight at keeper who flicked ball up for Braithwaite to knee into open net. Another being his goal tonight from a couple yards.

Cant rely on it to be claiming anything great. That alone and tap in tonight probably accounts for majority of it.

Never looks like scoring nearly enough or able to link well with team mates at cutting edge.

As for chance creation, here's a Barca table sorted by those who played the most minutes.

He's 16th in xGBuildup90 (won't be high anyway, Messi is 10th), 15th in key passes per 90 (Messi, Pjanic and Firpo top3) and 16th in assists per 90 (Fati, Messi, Alba top3)
