He's got talent... only lacks in maturity department! He's good not only in defense but also going forward, and they were not just blind runs down the touchline he's moving like an attacker meanwhile while building up the play!!(I know it's a bit too far but he reminded me a li'l of Maicon while attacking)

Surely he'll come good with some experience and confidence shown... Now that we are anyway short on the defensive members we could as well use him, rarely would you find a player who can play all the back four positions but can also contribute to attack in a beautiful way

I've been saying for a while now... The kid is good, I wouldn't know if he's ready for Barça, but another year loaned out wouldn't hurt... Also people need to stop seeing him as a CB, his best game is when played as full back...

Well, if you look at past seasons we've always had some defender who's been off form or a disaster waiting to happen (sometimes even our GK)... And then the flame wars and bashing begin, so it wouldn't be nothing new...

Keep Caceras for another season-he has potential. If he matures and starts fitting in more power to us. If he plays shit than we can sell him next season.

I think Milan have cooled interest in Caceres also, which is a shame as after that semi final I would have loved him at Milan.

Martin Caceres, last season on loan at Juventus, will this weekend travel to Barcelona, where he should start training on Monday.

He's literally begging for a chance... come on Pep give him that, he's had really good WC, just use him as backup we are anyway short in defense department, he isn't disobeying your pre-season orders either. just let him have some minutes against the minnows while resting Pique, he can't do any worse than Chygrynskiy at the least!!

One thing I'm worried about keeping Caceres though is the way he's all the time ready to dive into tackles, it gives me scare some times but Milito also is similar... and Caceres is very good on the ball while playing in the flanks!!

Wow, Raiola and Seluk could learn a couple of things from that Fonseca guy...

I really wish Cáceres stays, but we seem to have our full back spots covered (Abidal, Maxwell, Adriano, Dani and probably some canterano) and to be honest Martín is not that good as CB... Add to that Pep's views on him, it's clear Pep doesn't count on him, so I guess it's bye bye for Cáceres...

Caceres cannot pass out of defence nor is he composed with the ball at his feet. He does not know how to effectively distribute. If you cannot do that, you cannot play in the center of defence for Barca.

I remember arguing with people about Caceres being better than Chygrynsky and I was literally hung infront of the masses. The thing is with Caceres is he has some great qualities. He's great at clearing, pretty strong and is very pacey. His biggest flaws are maturity, and I mean that in making foolish/incorrectly timed tackles, and he tends to turn his back 1 vs 1 revealing and weak side (gets smoked). The fact is that he has ALWAYS had overall better qualities than Chyg. Chyg's problems were hard to fix like a poor first touch, or impossible to fix like his SLOW speed. With good coaching and hard practice Caceres has the ability to become worldclass, Chygrynsky cannot.

Edit: He has been used as a LB outside Barca but unfortunately thats the last thing we need (Abidal, Maxwell, Adriano). I think Pep could mold him into a CB though, a worldclass one at that. One thing I know for sure- he can't be worse than Chyg or perform worse than Marquez did last year. He's certainly the best option besides buying someone established.

He made some mistakes at Barca but it usually was a mistimed/poor tackle or bad positioning. I remember him actually being pretty good with the ball and passing pretty well.
