Lel. So because he won't play for the precious Barcelona academy (or other teams where Barcelona import from) his career is doomed, because he will play in a second fiddle team with some nobody coaching him.

Soldado, Negredo, De La Red, Mata, Jese, Morata, Carvajal, Szalai, Javi Garcia, Arbeloa, Cambiasso

Indeed a terrible, terrible record..

Varane is another young talent that RM went after at a relatively young age and who now plays for the first team regularly.

...

I didn't know the point in this discussion was whether or not he will make it at Madrid, I thought it was whether or not this is a good move for his career as a stepping stone on to the big stage. It absolutely is, and if he's good enough that stage will be RM in the future.

Some of you guys are talking like RM is a dead wasteland for players under 20. It's not.

Look back in the thread and you'll see posts of me not wanting him to join Barca either. So much for your lel. :mou:

How many of those players made it at your precious club? That's the point.
He didn't say "your precious", but "the precious" if you want to be fair.

Implying that he was not pointing any finger at you in particular but just responding to what can be felt when you're reading this thread.

Sure RM has flaws, but come on, don't deny that when reading this thread it's like many people are talking about the shittiest club ever for youngster under 20.

If he's talented enough, he will make it to the top of world football, the same way he would make it at Barca, Bayern or Ajax.

He choose "the fascist way". So be it. Why care? He has no values exept from money making and fame - this move was a bad one. I wish to feel sorry for the guy, but he is beyond repair. Craving for money and stardom and buying into mr.fascist club number ones bullshit. Well...just lost.

Its the truth

1. Real has fascist roots. The nationalistic versus liberal scheme still has some relevance.
2. Ajax was the right choice.
3. Craving for stardom, well, choosing Madrid....And real is all about "star culture", not a value driven club.
4. Money. Cant know for sure.

The cockiness, the high horse routine and standard statements along the lines of "how many products play for you now" or "how many Messis and Iniestas have you produced" that reflect utter foolishness... This is on of the reasons why sticking around for too long is unbearable nowadays for me and many others.

Maybe you should listen to your Kohe buddy who understands the facts and the situation? Maybe you should consider different scenarios a 16(!) year old can go through in the next 5 years of development? Maybe he's joining Castilla for 2 years to develop under some of the best staff available, then getting sold with buyback to a better club where he can establish himself in Europe, then maybe getting bought back if he shows enough promise and dedication? It's the simple business model that you don't seem to comprehend and a sequence of events that Madrid applies to majority of their prospects nowadays. Not everyone makes it back, which is normal, some do some don't. If they don't, money was made off of them, and they got a few years of experience in a top academy, which is also very valuable - look at those I mentioned earlier. Terrible academy after all.

Good CAREER move.

Good career move?

You have no basis for saying that. You should rather say: Based on points I think are essential he is doing the rational thing.

The thing is analysis. How Will a guy who just turned 16 handle a new culture, language, people, opponents, pressure, everything. There is a certain psychological factor here. Home sickness, isolation and so on is pretty Common things after all. He obviously cant know for sure if Its the right move, maybe Its a catastrophic one. I think his father is getting a position in the club though, that can be a life saver.

And how good is he really?, his opponents have been norwegian teams(50 best liga in the world probably) and weak national teams.

Its an enormous step going from norwegian liga to the Madrid system. He made it in system 1, but system 2 ends with world class competition in every position. Is the potential there? We dont know yet. Maybe he fades, maybe he dosent, in my opinion he should have choosing ajax and Horten regulary first team experience. In Madrid he wont hit the grass weekly for years - statistically never. How many of the huge talents succeds there?

And of course, all that is only true if he goes to RM.

I forgot Ajax and other big clubs bare RM are located in norway.
