And we know a team in CL finds it easier to find quality replacements for out-going first teamers. I can understand if his wish is/was to experience a diff league and such. Even the BVB fans over their forum are resigned to losing him. And they are usually an optimistic bunch. He's gone, really.

Probably couldn't resist the lure of the city of manchester, Van haal's champagne football, the opportunity to play alongside Young and Evans and ofc 'em monies.

Can't really blame him. Better than using the Goetze money on Mkhtaryan, letting Lewa leave on a free, and buying up a ton of guys with hard to pronounce names that wouldn't even warm the bench for a mid-table EPL or La Liga squad.
