Mats Hummels

Well, maybe I'm a little subjective to my compatriote Subotic but-I can't agree with you on that.Like I said:Neven has all Mats has and on top he also shoots FKs and scores,so...

i admire subotic a lot, and if barca can't get hummels i hope they will get neven, but hummels is the current best player in terms of heading ability and subotic isn't as good in that aspect.

Was solid as fuck today. Great header aswell. Of course we should go for him, But that depends on whether Zubi thinks he fits the barca profile for a defender.lol

Now after signing Suarez for 100m,we can't afford him,or anybody of his level.Period.

But,next season...

And why not exactly, hmm? If anything we've done nothing but amazing business this summer so far. We sold Cesc, who is a fantastic player but our coaching staff for some reason couldn't fit him into the team (as a midfielder), for approx 38 mil euros. We used 18 mil of that on Rakitic, who is a tall, stronger midfielder who is good on the ball and decent defensively. There is 20 mil left that you can say was used towards Mats and Bravo, 11 mil and 12 mil I believe. That about cancels the Cesc money out.

Now we have Suarez, who is every bit worth the 79.2 mil euro price tag on him based on his last few seasons (not to mention he killed it in Holland too). If we sell Sanchez for approx 38mil euros as well....that is only about 40 mil euro TOTAL spent this summer.

What exactly is the problem here?

Well...when you put it that way...nothing,actually.Fear of getting some 90mil in minus?

Specialy now that Neymar is hurt and we can't sell Pedro and Tello...

Zubi has recommended Hummels lots of times over the last seasons. Tito didn't want him as he only wanted Thiago Silva and right now it looks like Hummels doesn't want to leave Dortmund.

Hummels didn't wanna leave last season either. We could never have gotten him.

Even if Hummels wanted to leave, Dortmund would probably have pulled a Lewa and made him run down his contract. Seems to me that the only way to get a star player from Dortmund is a buyout clause.

How do we know he doesn't want to leave? All the quotes he has given essentially seem to suggest he is a good pro who doesn't want to cause trouble and would be happy to stay. That doesn't mean if an acceptable offer came in he wouldn't go. And the Lewa situation is completely different to this one. I have no doubt Dortmund won't roll over and sell him for peanuts but that is different from saying they won't sell him. The Lewa situation was that they would be losing one of their star players (who it was known would only go to one club) to their biggest title rivals for a decent price given he had on year left on his contract. That is different to a club from a different nation offering a hefty fee for one of their players. 50m would probably get your man, maybe 60m, but if you paid high enough for him then Dotmund would sell.
