The guy said he doesn´t want to leave and doesn´t care about higher wages. BVB doesn´t want to sell and we´re about to splash 80+M on Suárez, forget it.

I doubt he said that and even if he did we should all know by now players are pathological liars. The issue is BvB are stubborn and hell and wont even consider negotiating a "reasonable" fee.

No, not clear at all.

Translation:

"I don't have to win 8 league titles in my career. I would rather do something special. And so far, that was clearly the case."

"At the moment, I'm not thinking of leaving"

"I'd rather win 1 trophy as an important figure than 4 trophies as a part time player"

... which is basically a "fuck off" to bigger clubs trying to buy him. He wants to win titles with BVB as a key player rather than a squad player at other clubs.

He didnt say anything about money though. At some point all players get greedy. And the difference between earning 80k/week at BVB and 180k/week at Barca/City/Chelsea is a huge 100k/week!

For the time being he does not want to leave or else he would be already in another team. Dortmund is a great team and he likes being there. He´s still young to make a multi gazillion contract.

Some people need to learn to understand that not every player wants to join Barça. It's quite obvious that, as of now, Hummels doesn't want to leave.

„99,9 Prozent aller Vereine auf der Welt werden von mir und meinem Vater abgeblockt, wenn sie sich melden. Barcelona gehört zu den zwei, drei Vereinen, bei denen ich mir Gedanken machen würde.“

= 99.99% of the clubs would be rejected from me and my dad (agent). An offer from Barcelona would be among 2-3 options I'd think about.

Hummels definitely entertained the idea of joining Barcelona and the fact that he talks so vaguely about his future tells me he would be open to a transfer if everything is right.

He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who really cares about money so you can see why he would rather stay at Dortmund than join a club like City but that doesn't mean he wouldn't leave for any club. As he said there are only very few clubs he would join and I suspect that Barca dropped their interest for whatever stupid reason.

Wasn't that enough for barca to hear to launch a first 40m bid for him without second thought?

Would he be a squad player anywhere?

Not at first, but you know how it goes with the money clubs... buying someone for 40m doesnt mean shit in after 2 seasons when the new toys arive. He clearly feels valued at BVB and knows how quickly that can change at clubs that can easily replace players that are having a bad season. I mean he probably will leave at some point to get tha money, but not right now when BVB can still beat Bayern.

Yes, thats's why he would only join few clubs among which are Barca, he knows we don't like signing defenders.

The thing is the kind of loyalty and compromise Hummels is showing is so rare nowadays...
