They'll likely sign Kounde for 70m to replace Rudiger who is looking for his one last huge contract likely going to Real Madrid.
A downgrade if you ask me.

Don't think we're in a hurry though. So got a few months to evaluate options in the market.
But absolutely need to sign a starter-level CB, someone already established to once and for all push Pique out.
Maybe, but Rudiger was seen as a bit of a clown before he was fit into that back three.

I think one of the reasons Chelsea are not committing to him the way he wants is because they're not totally convinced he's as great of a player people think he is. Maybe they believe he's the product of the system they're playing in.
I'd get Andreas Christensen on a free transfer personally. Been quality for Denmark, is definite starter material and we won't be breaking the bank for him.
Was considering putting him in the list, but Tuchel seemed to suggest recently his contract extension is essentially done.
Think talks have stalled again. My #1 choice would be De Ligt but if we can get Christensen on a free, that is a coup. Araujo-Christensen is a very solid pairing.
Luiz Felipe available on a free. A player we were previously linked with and at a very high reported transfer fee at the time. Likewise Ginter.
Also Denayer of Lyon, who is either spectacular or catastrophic admittedly.
Point is that this summer mercado is not one to spend big on De Heavy. You have Rudiger (Madrid), Christensen, Luiz Felipe and even Denayer and Ginter all on free transfers with comparatively low wage and chomp change agent fees/signing on fees (well, except for Rudiger).
Don't know about Luiz Felipe, but Denayer and Ginter gonna make me and you lose a few years of life with their dumbass decision making and overall play so big no to that.
What about Sule? Looks like he's going to leave Bayern on a free transfer.
They do come cheaper sometimes. Teams buying CBs for big money is a rarity. Chelsea's biggest signing as a CB was David Luiz IIRC, and he was a flop. 30-40m tops is the money we should be paying for a top CB. And by top I don't mean playing for big teams.
