Matthijs de Ligt

I predicted long ago Frenkie would come to Barca...... and i was right. I will make a prediction soon about De Ligt. The more i see of him in the dutch media the more clear it is which club he would go.

Barca should be strategic in this. In the end De Ligt wants to play at the highest level of the game, he is in "love" with Frenkie so 1 and 1 is 2.

He loves Barcelona. He says Messi is the best. He is a true leader, if you here him speak after a game you hear someone speak who is 27 of age and have seen many championships. He is much ahead of his age. Smart, funny and very realistic. A warrior-tank. He will wear the Barca armband proud in every battle so what do you want more? Just be smart.

Another fantastic performance in last night's 0-4 victory over Feyenoord, capped it off with a goal and clean sheet too. We need to get this kid, no matter the price.

Yes, we could very well need him, but not for any price. With clubs like PSG and ManCity roaming the price can be too high. He looks like a safer bet than Mina, Vallejo etc., and has that captain-potential in him. Still, we badly need a Suarez-replacement, so we can't overspend and only promote Abel Ruiz, or sth like that.

I have a fine feeling about the clubs managing in this particular case. I think we will be smart and end up getting him for less than others bid, because he wants to come here.

I read that Juventus might be backing out of the race to sign De Ligt because of his perceived high price tag.
Then maybe he will stay one more season at Ajax lol.
After the EK 2020, his price will only get higher (assuming that Holland will qualify).

So if you want to get him. Get him now. He will not get any cheaper. Yes, maybe if his football development stagnate. Or if he's get injured.

In a normal world 50 mil would be more than enough. But football is getting crazier and crazier.
Neymar pretty much killed the transfer market.

Make no mistake, I like him but there are plenty of good CBs around and I am not sure if all of them are going to cost as much as De Ligt would.

At this point what do you think he will cost this summer? 90m? 100m?

100m lol ? Maybe if Ajax beats Real Madrid (and Barca in the next round). But that will not happen, so i think 75m will be enough.
His current market value is estimated to be around 65m

What makes De Ligt so special is his incredible leadership qualities despite his young age.
He’s born leader. You can be a great defender, but leadership isn't a skill it's a talent!
He has all the assets to become one of (if not) the best defender in the world.

I think that's why he's such an appealing target.

But ya, his transfer fee might be a problem for most clubs. We'll have to wait and see.

In a normal world, no player would cost more than a few millions. Half of all money are owned by 1 % - thats unreal, and our world is fucked up, just like football.

Pre-neymar MDL would have cost below 50m.

It's really simple, if the guys in charge of the club believe that he'll achieve his potential of being one of the best CB in his generation then 70 or 80 million will look like a bargain down the line. The guy is 19 and he could be decade long investment, if not more, since CB do tend to play at a higher level for longer.

If they don't believe that to be the case then there are other options out there that could reach a high level. Maybe around top 10 CB in the world that won't cost an arm and a leg in transfer and agents fees. We never relied on having the best defence, just having a good one that can compliment our godly attack was enough, so it's not really necessary to have the Maldini's and Nesta's of the world. We can manage having the Pique's of the world as long as there a system in place that can play on the front foot for the majority of games. Not the shit we play at this moment where we let the likes of Levant dominate us.

when you put it like that.. pause. it really is a disgusting world.. for example, the wages Kepa got fined could feed many starving people. a years wages of a world class player could feed a small country. anyways probably not for this thread but it makes one think thats for sure

transfer fees are even worse, especially blowing 160mil on a square peg in a round hole player *cough* Coutinho

Barca paid 3m for Cruijff
Probably the best deal of the century!

BTW:
What most people seem to forget. Is that Ajax plays with 2 midfielders as defenders.
Mazraoui is a midfielder. Blind is a midfielder.

When Mazraoui was playing in the reserve team (1-2 years ago). He was an attacking midfielder. In the Ajax youth acadamy he was an attacking midfielder. Sometimes he even played as a winger.

Last season Frenkie played as a CB.

De Ligt also plays with a lot of space behind him. It's pretty hard for a defender. If your team is so attack-minded. But this only made him stronger.

Ajax plays the same way as Barca. So De Ligt would have no problems to adjust. Barto already said he likes De Ligt a lot.
But that doesn't have to say anything.

Yes, it really is. Its not an uncommon view that a few people in this world are setting the agenda. It does makes sense, just look at Hitler, manipulating 80m people - one thing is for sure, our world is nothing like they want people to believe what it is. I live in denmark, one of the most modern countries in the world, and even here you feel the vibe of "everything is ok" - but it isn't.

I like that sports is like the way to express feelings in stead of wars. its Still its a cash cow for normal people.

That a foot player can be with 160m (coutinho) is prove.
