Irrelevant? During the FdJ saga this forum was going all accountant about wage bills and net spendings.. Surely barca has access to another 100m but not that doesnt make it a sound financial decision..

nobody knows how much we have to spend tbh

Barto (president) goes around telling the media 'our budget is 60mil before sales' every summer and then blows 160mil on 1 damn player in freaking January

Update:

Man City chances of being banned from the CL next season is increasingly after the recent leaks.

Doubt it.

They are suspected to have violated the "truthfull reporting" of financial affairs. It is not for not following the break even rule.

To be able to sanction them, UEFA must prove City lied and that those leaks are true. City defence is that those documents are obtained from hacking which is a criminal activity. Furthermore, they could be modified, edited or put out of ontext in a way to incriminate City.

Point being, even if you suspect City to have lied, you can't prove it (how do you provide validity from hacked documents ?). How do you prove the Sheik paid the sponsor to pay specifically City ? Plausible deniability. IF you can't prove it, you can't sanction them.

The real threat City is facing is the FIFA investigation about "youth transfer" which could prevent them from registering players for a certain number of windows (like Barcelona, Atletico, Real or Chelsea previously).

Btw, it is reason why they are rumored to be keen on spending 230 M£ this summer before they are banned from registering players later on.

Holy ****. That would be a massive loss for Pep. They need to win the CL this season.

A bit early. The core of the team is very young and they should peak in two seasons and they will give about 3 to 5 seasons. If Pep is lucky, he should win two CLs.

Sane ST Sterling
B. Silva KDB
CDM
LB AL JS Walker
Ederson

Excellent squad. I would not really worry if I were a City supporter, their time will surely come.

I do not really know much about MC's situation, but here is the link for those who are interested: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...e-CL-ban-new-leaks-reveal-got-UEFA-rules.html

Lot of accusation that can't be proven.

City have been smart. We all know they depend on the UAE monarchy (which is basically the state) but they are owned by CFG which is a subsidiary of ADUG, a property of Sheikh Mansour (not the reigning sheikh), and a fund from China (14%).
By this process, their sponsors from Etihad and the myriad of companies from UAE are not considered as related party and City is not in trouble with break even rule.
PSG in the other hand is owned by QSI which is the property of QIA which is the sovereign fund of Qatar. Thus, the sponsorship from Qatar are considered as related party by UEFA in PSG case and UEFA can play with the value as they please (first 100 then 58 with devaluation applied retroactively and creating problem with break even rule and another attempt to devalue it again before PSG appealed to TAS).

What those hacked emails are showing is that City used those seemingly "non related" companies as a vessel for the Sheikh to funnel his own money to the club. Since City reported those companies were paying the sponsorship and it was the Sheik paying for it, it is a breach in the truthful reporting of financial affairs.
But again, it will be next to impossible to have access to those companies books to see if indeed the Sheikh paid. They are on no obligation to show their book to UEFA lmao. UEFA rules over the clubs only (in the European competitions). And let's imagine, you magically have access to those books, they can always say the Sheik paid them for other stuff not related to City.

Does barca even have 75-100m left to spent? Or are outgoing transfers expected? Like rakitic

Pretty much. Hell, we wouldn't even have to part ways with the likes of Rakitic. We can get about 30-40 for Gomes, and about 15 for Rafinha+Denis, maybe 20. We can muster the difference in cash without much problem imo.

Push comes to shove, we sell Coutinho and outright buy De Ligt.

There will be money, let's see if there's will.

So is PSG, I believe.

There is not really a single rumor about PSG targets in the summer.

We don't even know the positions that will be focused on.

We can safely assume we will be in a defensive midfielder after de Jong failed transfer. De Ligt was rumored at PSG mostly because of the former guy. Given the cost and his position, i'm almost certain he will not play at PSG. PSG didn't or couldn't even attempt to try and outbid Barcelona for the most sensible position. The fee required for de Ligt is madness.
