Nah, Ajax wouldn't accept the loan of Todibo. If they want him we'd have to outright give him up with a first refusal option clause at best. And even then, the player has to agree to go there, he's not an object that you can loan/sell wherever you want.

More and more talk about him arriving this summer from various local sources. If I have to make a guess it will end like the De Jong "saga". It all depends on whether or not Barto and the board will prioritize his signing.

De Ligt would probably walk to BCN if that meant us signing him and the relations between the two clubs are great.

In other words the signing is all in our own hands irrespective of interest from other clubs. Said the same thing about De Jong and have no reason to change my opinion in regards to de Ligt either.

The signing makes alot of sense for us and should be a priority. Pique turns 33 in 2020, Vermaelan is done at the end of this summer and Umtiti's long term durability is questionable. So that leaves us with just Lenglet and Tobibo who is still green.

Back up LB we can get for free as as a stopgap (Monreal; Luis), and that is if we don't decide to use Roberto as back up to both FB positions.

Another player who can play the #9 some next year is the most pivotal need (Jovic, Gomez, Werner, another).

But if De Ligt is the best player out there and wants to come, yes get it done. Pique is getting up there and questions about Umtiti (health) and Tobido (does he become Barca quality and is CB his best position). Lenglet is solid, true, but future world class player I am not sure. So I wouldn't say our CB position is so great we would not think of adding if we are convinced De Ligt is extra special.

He isn't just an ordinary defender, so "we already have decent players" doesn't really apply. If buying De Ligt means Todibo never plays a minute for us or we have to sell one if the other CBs next summer so be it because this kid is special.

Yeah we also need a striker but if it's possible we have to go for De Ligt, he's too good to miss out on him.
