Mavericky Puig

better for everyone. its not as if he is some monster talent. if 3 managers watched him and deemed him not good enough to be a starter then it is better he tries proving himself elsewhere and comes back stronger.

let's see how many clubs are really interested in him.

I disagree with that, I'd say he is a huge talent. But ultimately for the sake of his career, it's better he plays games. Barca has definitely lost its way when it comes to developing and trusting youth though that's for certain.

You wouldn't blame them if results said otherwise but losing 22-2 against the big teams in Europe in the last few years shows the current approach of choosing experience isn't working either. Even the domestic form has slowly gotten worse too.

Fernando Polo says the club is considering loaning Puig to Ajax though we don't have any concrete offer for him.

Ajax would be one of my first choices as well but not sure if they'd really be that much interested in a loan idea. They can surely find similar/better talents for cheap and sell them for profit in a few years.

Bro, just stop it! At the age of 19-20 many players with small frame have similar light weight. You can't call a player at the age of 19-20 great player because he is at the start of his footballing career. What was Modric and Iniesta weight at the same age? Can you guess?!

Iniesta was around 64~65kg when he was 21. That is almost 10kg more than Puig now if he is still 56kg.

Messi was around the same as Iniesta when he was 18.

No he didn't mean that, read his reply above.

Name me a top player who is 56kg. Even for a normal men at 21, 56kg is quite thin, here we are talking about a professional footballer.

Messi/Iniesta/Xavi all develop their physique, why not Puig? Is his talent better than all of those three combined? Nope.

I dont understand why you can not accept the fact that Puig need to improve his physique more to be better.

To be honest I think Puig,Pedri and a lot of the under 22's minus Fati aren't going to see much game time under Koeman. Gonna be difficult to find appropriate teams for all of them at this stage.

Fati and Trincao will play a lot imo. Araujo and/or Garcia probably as well.

I've said before this whole "Puig drama" I'd consider loaning Pedri because I don't see him getting enough minutes. He's 3 years younger and has higher potential than Puig but needs to play regularly at his age. He's more versatile and could play all three positions behind a striker but still with Messi, Fati, Griezmann, Coutinho, Trincao and Dembele (until he's fit to play) he probably won't get much minutes. If Gladbach is still interested I'd rather loan him there and keep Puig fighting for his minutes.

Don't really care about Alena as he doesn't have a longterm future at the club. Would prefer to sell him but if we don't have any good enough offers (which I suspect is a case) and he's ok to stay as a cheap 4th/5th midfield option for a season then I don't mind him.

Pisses me off more than anything that we figure this out now. Two weeks before the window ends.

I mean when would you try to figure this out? Koeman wanted to see him in preseason and we've had other more important things to deal with before that thanks to our beloved captain.

I still think it's far from a given Riqui will actually leave. Koeman just suggested him to leave on loan but if Puig eventually stays he'll still use him. Just not as much as people would want and probably not what's the best for his development.

I know La Real brought David Silva in but wouldn't they be interested in a loan for Puig? I mean, they did lose Odegard and Silva is ancient, don't they need a bit of depth at the spot?

I'm totally oblivious to what they've done this summer squad wise so yeah.

Apparently Pedri has a clause in his contract that Las Palmas will get extra millions if he is loaned/played on another team but Barca first team, and that includes B team. iirc, around 8 million.
That is why you can take Pedri out of the loan list. Se queda

Completely forgot about Trincao, he will play too. I also think Pedri has the higher potential plus he's a few years younger. But what frustrates me is these youngsters have shown enough to be given chances now but we persist with players who haven't performed for a long time. It doesn't matter what manager comes in, the core of the team basically remains the same.

Yeah, Alena is too limited to his left foot to be anything more than an occasional back-up player, show him on to his right and he's ineffective.

huge talent? if he was as huge as you claim, clubs would have lined up in front of the camp nou to transfer him.

When I say huge talent I mean he shows more creativity and dynamism from midfield than the other players we have persisted with, in recent seasons. Can you tell me, you honestly believe he didn't look better than Vidal, Roberto, etc at the end of last season?

I don't have any particular favoritism towards Puig Im just fed up of seeing the same old players fail time and time again without trusting any of the younger players to be given a proper chance.

while i do admire his involvement, creativity and energy, we shouldn't compare him with roberto or vidal. those are players that fulfill other roles in the team.

you could have a case for keeping him in the squad. but you think the odd cameo will do him any favors?

Hearing Ajax in the Dutch media aswell and it makes some sense since vb Beek left there is a spot at CAM however Ajax are all bout making money off players so unless its something like a sell with buyback clause I just dont see it happening.

According to Dutch media Ajax enquired bout Puig 2 times in last 2 years and both times Puig didnt wanna leave , he needs new advisors lol.
