Mavericky Puig

Because it's not a fucking issue. Look at him play. He held is own fine against a team like Atleti. At no point have I watched him play and complained about his lack of muscle.

You think these mesomorphic players look ripped just because they need to wrestle with opponents? Of course not, it's mostly about movement, look at sprinters.

If you're a Benz, Kane, Suarez type of attacker, then obviously you need to wrestle, but Puig is not. He works around opponents, not through them. Wrestling is like 5% of his game and it's not like he just falls down. He actually seems to have great balance and rigid core. Might get pushed back a bit easily, but can fight back by slipping by and poking at the ball.

He's nimble like a fly. Try killing a fly by pushing it away.

The match against Atletico is good but its just one game. Watching other matches opponents do outmuscle him quite easy when he defend against them. You can watch his U21 game and see how easy he is knocked to the ground by his opponents.

BTW, Messi/Iniesta at the same age (21) had better physique, bigger than Puig and it did help them.

Seem that people dont want to admit his weakness.

Iniesta did not certainly had a bigger physique than Puig around the same age.

The CL 06 final shows that.

In numbers of matches with:
1. Rakitic on a verge of dying
2. Busquets, his soul died a few years ago
3. Messi, the same
4. Vidal, the same
5. Suarez, the same
6. In a team without a coach or any idea (Setien)
7. In a league after pandemic, without fans, without passion, without fighting spirit, without fouls
8. In a league where we lost the league 5 matches before the end and played without motivation against other teams who had nothing to fight for
= basically irrelevant off season matches in the rank of round of 64 of Cdr or semis of Copa Catalunya.

And in those circumstances, a 20 years old kid in his debut matches showed more passion and will than these washed players?

No shit, Sherlock.

Again, it doesn't say much about Puig except that he has legs and more passion than players who died 5 years ago.

Even you and me would look like gems bedides walking zombies Messi, Raki, Busi and Suarez.

Let me guess, even Dembele, Trincao, Fati look more lively than our zombies?
Does that mean that Dembele is a good player?

Another bunch of dishonest excuses. No Dembeke wasn't all that good. Trincao and Fati were. Meritocracy, bitch.

But Messi was not 56kg and as small as Puig back then. And no, at 21 Messi was the best player in the world. His physique at 21 was much more better than Puig.

I think you were probably in elementary school when Messi started his career. It doesn't matter if he had so much potential at the time, many people like you dismissed him because of his smaller physique and more important his injuries, they say "He has the potential to be the best in the world if it wasn't for his injuries".

Puig definitely not an injury prone so that is a plus, and just like Messi who used to be pushed by bigger opponents but the advantage is we get so many fks and pks especially when those small physique players are technically gifted and can dribble.

As long as Koeman isn't petty and stubborn , Im certain he will get his chances. Especially with how shambolic Griez is playing in that CAM position.

I just don't see Koeman dropping Busquets all that much. He'll probably rotote Busquets, Pjanic and de Jong in the midfield positions. They have far more experience. He'll probably stick Roberto as a backup cm.

It's just a shame we can't give Puig a good chance. He's got big potential.... he just needs to the games to grow as a player. I can honestly see another Thiago type of situation. He'll leave and he'll become a top midfielder in another club.

Arthur had 4-5 goals and 4-5 assists during 10 matches of his life in October of 2019.

He is still shit.

Puig was given a free role at Barca B and still scored only 2 goals in his career against extremely bad opponents.

Messi, Cou, Griezz, Vidal, Pjanic, Alena are regular scorers, for example.

It is not as if Puig is bad.
But he has a lot of flaws.
Can't score, can't defend, teen physique, his position doesn't exist in 4231, 5-6 players at his position.

He is good at running with the ball, passes and adding some energy in dying minutes.
That's it for now.

Who cares what he did with Barca B? Barca have much better and intelligent players.
Our problems have been a lack of creativity in many big games where we got completely demolished.
Too many sideways passers and not enough incisive, linebreaking players.
Puig offers this in spades. I feel that it would be a huge mistake getting rid of him.
