Mavericky Puig

Doesn't matter. Unless you are trying to say Puig change thr game when he come when PSG already scored 3 goals (they still score another one when Puig is on the pitch) and slowed the game. Verrati would destroy him like he did to De Jong and Pedri. This is a mismatch.
And i don't see any PSG player chasing the ball. It is Puig chasing PSG players

I am not trying to say Puig changed the game, no you are definitely jumping to a very simplistic conclusion there. I'm saying his game is based on getting the ball and moving possession, that's the kind of dynamism we missed tonight as we allowed PSG to dictate play instead. None of our midfielders were moving for it or asking for it. Yes Verratti was superb, he is far better than any midfielder we have, but we played timidly all game.

this thread should be closed for ever. puig will never be a starter for this club and people are just wasting time talking about him.

All fair. We lacked good movement and Puig is all about movement and quickness.

Puig game base on possession is exactly why he didn't play from start. PSG doesn't let Barca have room in midfield from beginning.

But you need players who want to get on the ball constantly and move for it. The game plan could not have been to allow PSG to dictate the game at the Camp Nou and we hope to hit them on the break with our notoriously non-existent counter attacks.

Both De Jong and Pedri are those kind of player but they are completely destroyed by PSG. Puig's agility and small legs (which make him look faster) will not change anything. Plus PSG attack will always keep Barca midfield busy.

Puig is fast even with his small legs, no need to downplay his abilities. He is much faster than Pedri but I agree that he would make no difference today.

He is aglie but not fast. If you talk about his acceleration and speed then he is not that type of fast.
Faster than Pedri though.

Pedri averages 38 passes a game in CL and 40 in La Liga. He has the xfactor further forward but isn't one to be constantly recycling possession.

I do not think Riqui Puig is a magic solution at all and I do rate Pedri' ceiling higher, but Puig's tendency to constantly look for the ball is something we lack at times.
