I think he has realized that there can be first team opportunities this season, the way the squad is shaping up. Atleast it looks that way right now.

Maybe at the end of the window, with a new signings and the regulars are back then he is advised to go on loan.

But for right now, it makes sense for him to stay and try and prove for a spot.
