ah and also...
Puig is a potential top player,
the sooner that's realized the better
Yeah no doubt he has the talent but the situation he's in at his age he's just going to be another wasted talent.

Puig is in a difficult spot, his main competition in the Midfield are all better than him and one of them is an 18-year-old kid who had a breakout season and is also coming off a world-class showing at the Euros for Spain and was in the team of the tournament and almost certainly a lock for the golden boy award all at the age of 18 years old. There are also some really impressive talents coming through as well in the Midfield spot.

Puig has the talent but he's in a tough spot that if he's really that stubborn enough to stick around getting garbage minutes every once in a while he will never develop into the player people expected. I won't hold it against him if he really persists in staying because it's his choice but it's really not good for his sake to stick around and hope Koeman will give him the game time he needs to develop.

What is your opinion on the carreer plans of Alex Collado?
Nice of you not to hold Puigs decisions against him. I hope to get to see him play a lot in the future, not many players like him!

Maybe controversial but my prediction is he won't make it past January.

Another talented player but I just have a hard time seeing him get significant minutes it would make it worth it for him to stick around. He won't be sold but I think a Loan in January is probably in the cards if he ends up rotting the bench long enough.

Nah seems reasonable and I don't think it's very controversial.
I just hope he gets a real chance to prove himself in front of us, not just in training. I saw some potential in both Konrad and Trincao, would've liked them to get more minutes.

Have you seen this?

The first action is funny in the "that's the Konrad I know" kind of way.

But this is the kind of thing I expect that he can do consistently as he matures and is surrounded by better players.

No I hadn't seen it.
Yeah I think he can be REAL hyped pretty soon. I do not think he is very great, but I think Barcelona should've cashed in a lot more on him, and used him more last season.
If he keeps playing like that this season, maybe some club will rate him as Barcelona rated Dembele when they bought him...

He is not going to be a world beater, but he offers a simple profile that can provide solutions in certain situations. For example, for what people wanted Adama to come back for. Or what Tello could have been if we utilised him more. Or what Dembele has ended up being ... (doh)

Don't see him coming back, but it is the type of player that you put two seasons in a club like Marseille and assess how his level develops. So I'm not too opposed to the deal although as you say we could have got a bit more money from him!

Yeah I agree in general.
Adama is a worse player I think, and Dembele as well.
I think he could've played a Tello kind of role last year and next year, and based of him being american, young etc, Barcelona could've gotten a lot bigger of a fee than they got.
But watching your clip, I think he is actually playing a bit similarly to Pedro... The close control, intensity, etc. Not just a pacy winger!
But he is no world beater, and he will play a specific role for a team, but I think in the right surroundings he can fool a lot of people and also perform pretty well!

So what's the deal with him next season ? Is he going to continue being a bench player here or go for some playing time at another team ?

Laporta rates him, that's why he'll stay at the club.
His fate will depend a lot on what happens with Ilaix. If he extends his contract, I don't see much pitch time for Puig. Roberto pretty likely will move to midfield too with Dest and Emerson competing for the RB spot.

Starting to think he's reached his potential. He's a different type of player compared to what we have, but he'll never be able to consistenly be a game changer in mid- to big games.

Would you expand on this?

He's the world's oldest talent. He's still playing like he's 19.

And he is 21, and just comes off a year where he barely played...
I know he's soon 22, but in any case, I think he took on a leading role on the midfield in this first preseason game, while Pjanic looked really poor and Roberto was competent but a bit more passive.

He had a couple of pretty great actions today, and say 80% correct decisions well executed, but he forced the decisive action a bit too much, and also had one blunder. I also thought he was a bit less intense in the press compared to what I'm used to...
