A couple of his little clever passes into the feet of Barca players in more forward positions looked to catch them off guard.

They were often flat footed and not even expecting it as so used to the slow passing for passing sake.

I have big doubts over him but this is surely an encouraging performance, he deserves more consistent minutes with FDJ out.

There's no doubt about his technical skills and his vision and creativity. Only his physical attributes, but even then he's a guy that actually want to make those passes and bring some creativity and freshness to this stale ass team.

Right now that's worth a lot.

Same goes for Ansu.

He should be right up there in the competition for that CM spot. He plays fast and has endless reserves of cardio/energy. The tempo with him on the pitch is constantly high, which is crucial given the biggest problem of this team is playing utterly slow.

Even defensively he is really energetic with his pressing. It doesn't matter much for an offensive midfielder to win the ball but rather to constantly be pressing and closing down which he does in spades.

If we sell Arthur, we should absolutely not get Pjanic. I'd rather just trust Puig to step up. If there is any midfielder we should buy, it is Thiago.

I don't know if he has the capacity to start. But he surely has to be the first sub in midfield we use in the second half in most games for this end of Liga. Perfect mix of speed, dribbling, movement and passing when opposition defences tire. 25-40 minutes.

He was even shouting players to pass to him. Not weak mentality either. Looks like a winner to me. He wants responsibility.

What a breath of fresh air after watching Arthur. Energy, imagination, thrust, runs into the box, fast passes etc...

So true. They were genuinely surprised the ball found their feet.

On Rakitic goal, he suddenly passes it through Bilbao's midfield and Vidal is surprised by that. Honestly other players would pass it to Pique.
