I am one that thinks his physicality will hold him back but he was sensational last night and changed the game with his positivity.

If wrong then happy to see it play out and wont go BBZ route and try to find reasons to prove still correct.

Did want him and Fati to start last night before game though as would rather go down swinging and learn about those players then lose with slow, mostly old guard.

I think he was good to excellent in most of the games he played so far. He only had one bad game, yet so many posters here bashed him not based on his performance but his physical limitation which didn't stop him from being brilliant.

This cult "Small Physique Won't Make It" should die. It influenced many posters here even Cruyffians started to believe football is all about height and muscle.

This was a big lie perpetuated by Segura to undermine the B players, cosigned by bartomeu

Riki played good.
I am starting to like him, but...

We should look both at positive and negative aspects.

For now, what I have seen from him:
Pros:
1. Brave
2. Forward passes, creative
3. Runs with the ball and gets it forward
4. Plays well when he enters as a sub
5. Plays well at home against teams who parked a bus

Cons:
1. Physique
2. Bad defending. Yes, he presses but it looks as if a little puppy is jumping around you without any ability to actually steal the ball
3. For now, not as good when he starts
4. Not as good on away matches where teams don't sit deep and where they play more physical and aggressive

I don't know what will happen with away matches, but for now he is refreshing at Camp Nou matches at 0:0 in the last 20-30 minutes.

It is nice to have different type of attackers and midfielders.
Vidal offers aggression.
Riki is good against parked buses at home.
Arthur is good against press on away games or when we lead 2:0 and want to calm down the match.

I dont even know why we do short corners, it usually ends with the ball back to Ter Stegen

Invented in a season 2008/09.

Till then we used to play regular corners like all other clubs in the world.
It is nice to see lately that we are starting to use this weapon after 12 years of sleep.

Maybe one day we'll see more long range drives again and more crosses.

I thin he he was better in game last night than ever seen him for B team. He really changed the game.

Not so much small wont make it but someone his size can get bullied but if he finds a way past that then all credit to him.

Folk need to be fair and judge him on how he performs and last night he was class but the debate will rage any time he is good or bad and go to extremes.

Yesterday he brought everything to the game Arthur lacked. He was so positive on the ball.

Corners in general very very very rarely lead to goals, and usually ends up with giving away possession to the opposition. For a team that's weak to counters and loves to hold the ball, that's a big negative. Statistically if you want to make the best of your corners, short corners make a lot of sense.

You have some points. But for the Cons:

- He hasnt started in Liga this season so we dont know how he play as a starter. Forget that copa del rey match, the whole team is bad,not only him

- He also hasnt played away match this season so just like above as i said.

The next match agains Celta, he would likely play as starter, away match so we will have some answer.

Also he has ability to drag the whole midfield to attack. He is more like a number 10.

And his physique, while possesing ball, he never let Bilbao's players get close to him. He usually makes some quick feint and gets away from his marker. Off ball he tries to press as possible.

Goes to take corner. Messi comes for short corner. Puig ignores and delivers corner ito box for a Pique header which almost goes in.

Balls of steel this kid.

Deserves to play more just for that action.

Leo lets him take that corner. He trusts Puig.

You can't really say anything about his physique. Don't forget he's playing for the b team most weeks an I'm sure he's coming up against some big opponents

Puig might get exposed with too much playing time, especially on defense.

But he has a very important role to play for the rest of this season. When Barca needs a late goal, Puig and Fati need to be out there.

The only silver lining with us flipping Arthur to Juve is this kid might get more playing time.

Keep in mind y’all that this kid can still bulk up a bit and gain some strength there to help him against physical teams in the future. Sure, he won’t be Vidal but even Iniesta could sneak in a win a ball with a well timed tackle, that’s all Puig needs to be able to do fr fr and just keep his shape, cover FB when necessary etc.

If we are serious about trying to win matches right now, Ansu and Riqui have to be starting now, based off of performances.

Agreed. If Arthur stays somehow, it would be interesting to see how he'd do with Puig and De Jong next to him, two players with quick legs and top notch movement.
